Hands up who has a laundry that needs organising?

Check out these 10 helpful ways to organise your laundry space today:

1. Easy sorting with washing baskets – or bags.

2. Hang your ironing board.

3. No cupboard space? Use the walls! It doesn’t have to be fancy, use hooks.

4. Make a fold down drying rack or put a retractable one in the cupboard.

Or use an old ladder!

5. Use a shoe organiser to hold all your cleaning products.

6. Use closet storage to store toilet paper and paper towel.

7. Install a rack for air drying shirts.

8. Store your folded sheets inside the matching pillowcase for neat storage.

9. Attach an ironing board on top of storage.

10. Bin bags rolls in the cupboard.

  • Lots of fantastic ideas. Our laundry is tiny which is fine as so is our little family

  • I love the ladder idea. You can rig them up and use them as overhead storage in a garage too. I have a neighbour who did a DIY large ladder and actually rigged it up in such a way it could be lowered and raised using a pulley. They stored all sorts of things on it, including folding outdoor chairs they wanted to protect from our harsh weather conditions. They were only used occasionally so best stored out of the way.

  • I love idea 8 and 9! I already have extra rails and hooks in my laundry – great for wet weather days when I don’t want to run the dryer for hours.

  • I have a Euro laundry. I find that I had too many old rags, cleaning toothbrushes, gloves, scourers etc that were in a big mess. I divided them into groups and popped them into shoe boxes. It is so much easier to find my way around the cupboard now!

  • Brilliant ideas! My laundry is small and so is my storage space within the rest of the house so I might try to implement a couple of these ideas. Thanks!

  • My laundry is rather small so we’ve had to maximise the space. Our tumble dryer is attached to the wall to give me more floor room. I have a basket for dirty washing, and a separate basket for linen/towels. We hang the ironing board from the door with a spot to hang the iron too. I had an overhead cupboard installed to include the things I regularly use. I have hooks to hang my linen wash bags. I have hooks to hang wet towels that won’t be washed immediately, to allow them to dry naturally and not go mouldy and smelly. I have hooks to hang smaller damp items eg. footy shorts and jocks after swimming again, that won’t be washed immediately but don’t want mixed with dry dirty washing! I love the tips provided and am always looking for something to make my time in the laundry easier.
