We asked what meal you always hated as a kid and still refuse to eat, some of the answers certainly made us gag that’s for sure!

I always hated corned meat as child, we called it “red meat”. I will eat it occasionally now though, but it is definitely not a fave.

Lots of you said how much you despise lambs fry, tripe and steak & kidney pie.

While others had some quite shocking food memories and we can totally understand why you would be scarred for life by them.

brussel

Top 1o hated dishes include:

1. Ham and pea soup

2. Corned beef was a popular dislike

3. Apricot chicken (still one of my fave meals!)

4. Smoked cod

5. Meat loaf also seemed to be a popular hated meal

6. Egg salad

7. Even Christmas pudding got a mention. (Have to agree with that!)

8. Cabbage and brussel sprouts are certainly the most detested vegetable that’s for sure

9. Sardines (ewwww yes totally agree!)

10. Weetbix also made the list

  • Wow, I LOVE corned beef!!! I also love pea and ham soup as well as sardines and funnily enough my kids love these things too.
I hated baked beans and tinned spaghetti!!! Yuuuck!
We never had Brussel sprouts or apricot chicken. In fact, to this day, I still haven’t tried either of them!

  • Wow. I love most of these, sardines and Christmas pudding are definitely ones I will never touch and smoked cod. But I love all the others.

  • I always and still can’t bring myself to eat Brussel Sprouts. My mum would boil them to the point of distinction so they were water, soggy and gross. I really must try them again one day but the memory is strong!!!

  • I always hated fish, still don’t eat it and I quit all meat and too.
Cabbage and brussels sprouts are well eaten here :)

  • Smoked Cod. I cannot stand the smell of this. Tripe. OMG, I can’t believe we were fed this. Christmas Pudding – we only ate it to find the money hidden within!

  • After a 10 day school camp which served sausages for all 3 meals every day, my brother and i loathed sausages. When we got home from the camp mum had made sausage casserole which we REFUSED to eat. I do like them again though, but it was probably 10 years before I ate them again!

  • Definitely pumpkin, I still can’t handle it.

  • I actually like some of these although lambs fry and powdered milk are definitely not a favourite

  • Wow, what is everyone’s problem with weet-bix, meatloaf and corned beef? I had a couple of things I loathed- my mother used to make packet mashed potato (gross!), which I used to call “goop” and powdered milk (which I used to call “dragon milk”). As to meals- I hate her vegetarian stroganoff. She uses a lot of sour cream in it so not sure if that’s why. All I know is I make my own meat versions from recipes I’ve found and I actually like it- go figure!
