Man charged with abduction and other offences after he allegedly broke into a Gladstone home and dragged a sleeping girl out of her house.
It has been reported by 9 news that the girl’s screams woke up other residents about 1am Sunday and caused him to flee, police said.
She suffered cuts and grazes to her arms.
Police say, investigations led officers to attend an address at Seaview Heights around 1.30pm that afternoon.
Upon the arrival of police a man fled the home, resulting in a large scale search of the Seaview Heights and Clinton areas with the assistance of the police dog squad.
A 24-year-old Sunset man was located in the rear yard of an address by police around 8.15pm and taken into custody.
He has since been charged with abduction of a child under 16, assault, entering a dwelling with intent, indecent treatment of a child under 16 and obstructing police.
He has been denied bail and is expected to appear in the Gladstone Magistrates Court today.
