How many times do we treat people around us better than what we would ever envisage that we would treat ourselves!

I know I have been guilty of this many times.

How do you treat yourself? Do you treat yourself as you would a best friend?

Quite often the things we say to ourselves and the way we treat ourselves is worse than how we would treat a total stranger.

The things we say to ourselves can be critical and negative. From you look fat, to why did you say that, to why can’t you just be like so and so, to you could not possibly do that (and the list goes on). These are things that you would not dare say to anyone else in your life so why do we say them to ourselves?

Our self-talk is governed and set up based on our self-beliefs and self-esteem. Our self-talk almost becomes our internal mantra that we live our life by. If we do not think that that we are good enough on the inside then we will never feel good enough on the outside.

What is your self-talk? What is it saying about how you feel about yourself?

Here are the 3 tips to be your own best friend…..

  1. Acknowledge what your self-talk is. Start to listen to what it is and what situations you are using negative self-talk.
  2. Understand why your self-talk is what it is, look for the underlying emotional reason why you say these things to yourself.
  3. Commit to yourself that you will build yourself up from the inside out! Starting with your emotions that are causing you to talk negatively to yourself!

Sometimes it can be hard to understand the reasons why you treat yourself in a negative way, so take a step away from the emotion and drama to think what would you say to your best friend if she was saying these things to you? When we step away from the emotion and drama, we can often see clearly what we did not want to see whilst in the cloud of emotion!

Be the change in your life that you need to be!

  • A great reminder. Sometimes we get used to the negative talk with ourselves and it effects behaviour so much. Positive thinking is a big blessing, bigger than money.

  • two tips that have helped me are..our minds are like a photo copier, and keep churning out the same old stuff to us year after year, that is , unless we decide to stop what it is us, and begin to feed it positive thoughts…. then it will start to churn out positive suggestions eventually.it does work cause I have tried it and am still feeding it +ve ideas…….

Did you know that the mind naturally tends to go to the negative all the time, so it is our job to keep it on the positive all the time.

    It pays off..
