The cold winds of winter can often leave your skin feeling dry and damaged …

The good news is that inside your pantry are 5 Easy, Affordable and Quick Face Masks that are the perfect remedy.

A busy schedule can also mean there is no time to adhere to a complex skin care regime that will help combat the harsh conditions, leaving your skin feeling neglected.

Luckily, there are several easy ways to reinvigorate and rehydrate skin by using ingredients straight out of the pantry.

If you are feeling beaten by the cold season, these five ingredients each possess their own unique benefits that can create fabulous, fast and fresh facemasks.

1.     Avocado

Avocados are filled with healthy oils and infused with a rich blend of both vitamin A and E, making them the perfect ingredient for a nourishing facemask that reinvigorates dehydrated skin.

Avocado can be used on its own or combined with small amounts of almond oil, coconut oil or basic olive oil to create a nourishing mask.

If marks and blemishes are your enemy, complement the natural benefits of avocado by mixing in an egg yolk, helping you clear your skin naturally.

2.     Honey

Honey is a pantry staple that can be used to create a rich and purifying facemask.

With strong antibacterial properties, honey is great for cleansing skin and also helps to lock in moisture during the cold winter months.

If you are short on time you can apply a few teaspoons of honey on your face for a couple of minutes and rinse off with a warm facecloth, a cleansing experience for busy ladies who need a quick skincare fix.

If you have a little extra time try mixing honey with some plain yoghurt or raw milk, creating a thick paste, and apply to your face for 20-30 minutes. This combo is an effortless remedy for dry and rough winter skin.

3.     Oatmeal

A wonderful ingredient for a winter facemask is oatmeal. Rich in amino acids that help skin to retain moisture, this inexpensive pantry product can create a mask that helps to relieve damaged skin irritated by cold winds. Combine an equal amount of oatmeal, yoghurt and honey into a paste and apply to your face for 20 minutes.

This DIY facemask is a fabulous fix for rough and agitated winter skin.

4.     Banana

An everyday favourite, banana is a great natural product to use in a facemask. Beyond the benefits of eating bananas, filled with potassium and calcium absorbing probiotics that are great for an energy boost and strengthening bones, they also have countless benefits for your skin.

The potassium in bananas helps rejuvenate dehydrated skin, whilst vitamin A heals any dryness or irritated areas.

Half a banana mixed with ¼ cup of yoghurt and ½ tsp almond oil creates a facemask perfect for infusing tired winter skin with moisture.

5.     Strawberry

Great for fighting redness and filled with vitamin C, strawberries help to repair damaged skin that is especially oily and prone to acne.

Blend a handful of strawberries with 3 tbsp of lemon juice and 1 ½ tbsp of honey into a paste and apply to your face for 15 minutes.

This home remedy is a natural way to quickly and easily refresh and repair your skin in the long months of winter.

Protecting your skin’s resiliency and wellbeing over the cold months has never been easier, no matter what your schedule.

So give these everyday ingredients a try next time you are looking for an easy and affordable solution to fighting off the harsh effects of winter on your skin.
