Hello!

Do you dream about planning a romantic getaway for you and your sweetheart? Does it feel like its been ages since you, and your spouse have managed to escape from the kids and day-to-day life?

Well then, it’s time for you to plan an escape on a romantic getaway, to the best kept secret in Australia – Broome.

How about a picnic on the beach or a romantic camel ride? Why not savour the most memorable kiss ever, under the Staircase to the Moon? Broome isn’t just any romantic getaway; it is ‘the’ romantic getaway. Before you know it, you’ll once again have the passion of young lovers.

Here are my top 5 reasons you should go to Broome for your next romantic trip:

1) Staircase to the moon

Twinkling stars everywhere you look, and the moon is rising over Broome’s coast. Now, this is not like any moon rising, because if you are in the right place – the Staircase to the Moon – at the right time, well it’s simply magical. The mud flats of the Indian Ocean are exposed during a low tide and that causes the moon’s light to be reflected.

The result is a spectacular optical illusion that looks like a set of stairs reaching to the moon.

The striking views are only visible to those who take the time to seek them out and are patient enough to wait on the beach for the optimum conditions.

Grab a blanket, and bring along a picnic. Romance is in the air. While you await the moon’s performance and beauty, why not make a little magic of your own.

2) Cable Beach

Cable Beach is one of those places that you must have as a destination on your romantic getaway. You’ll find 22 kilometres of pristine sandy beaches along with the Indian Ocean’s blue waters, which certainly are a mood setter.

Spend your days swimming or relaxing on the beach, drinking wine at the resort, or at Gantheaume Point.

The sound of the ocean lapping at the shores, the warm sun, and relaxed atmosphere is sure to create a romantic vibe.

Spend the afternoon at the Cable Beach Club & Resort enjoying tasty petit fours, a glass of your favourite wine, followed by tea or coffee. Sit back, enjoy the views, relax, and unwind.

You might decide to enjoy a couple’s massage. It’s the perfect way to spend your afternoon and turn up the romantic volume.

Head over to Gantheaume Point at the south end of Cable Beach. When the tide is low, you can see 130 million-year-old dinosaur footprints. It’s an amazing experience you won’t want to miss. You can also enjoy the hand-carved Anastasia’s Pool. It screams romance!

3) Take a kayak adventure

If you love to get out on the water, why not go on a kayak adventure? Gantheaume Point is one popular kayaking spot. The exquisite aqua water, sensational red rock formations, fish, turtles and nurse sharks, make this an adventure you two won’t soon forget.

4) Take a hovercraft ride

Experience some of the most spectacular scenic views and historic sites, as you fly across the low water, sand bars, and tidal flats. You’ll see some very old dinosaur tracks in beach rock that have been perfectly preserved.

Enjoy the brightly coloured inhabitants you see basking in the Mangrove trees and be mesmerised by the history tucked away on the ocean floor.

5) Sunset Broome camel rides

Be sure to take a camel ride along Cable Beach. On your list of things to do on a romantic getaway, this is a must do!

As the sun goes down over the beautiful Indian Ocean, you and yours really can ride off into the sunset.

Talk about romantic! We have even heard about unique marriage proposals taking place on these mesmerising rides.
