Baby shower games are a great way to break the ice and get your guests laughing and enjoying themselves!

Here are 6 baby shower games that are creative as well as fun. You will need to do a bit of preparation beforehand for these games, this is a list of the items you’ll require:

  • Pack of Little One’s disposable nappies
  • Paper and pens
  • Coloured marker pens
  • Kitchen gloves, knife and fork
  • Family-sized bar of chocolate
  • Collection of small baby items
  • Play dough

1. “Baby” Songs

Give everyone five minutes to list as many songs with the word ‘baby’ or ‘babe’ in the title. Guests can work on their own or in teams of two or three people. The person or team with the longest list wins a prize. An alternative is to create a playlist of songs with the ‘baby’ or ‘babe’ in the title and play 30 seconds of each song and have people guess the artist and title.

2. Pass the Nappy

Have the guests sit in a circle. Wrap the bar of chocolate (slightly melted) in a nappy and place in the middle with kitchen gloves, a knife and fork. Pass the parcel around the group to some random music. When it stops the person holding the nappy has 30 seconds to don the gloves, undo the nappy and eat the chocolate with the knife and fork. It continues until there is no chocolate left and the loser is the one left holding a dirty nappy when the music stops.

3. Parenting Advice

Before the shower have some pens and paper slips ready for each guest. Ask them to write down a short parenting saying or advice that they were given from their mum or dad. Collect the slips in a bowl and mix them up. The mum-to-be reads each slip of paper and everyone tries to guess who wrote each saying.

4. What’s in the Nappy?

Before the shower take a few baby items and wrap them in a nappy. This could be a bottle, socks, thermometer, rubber duck etc. Tape them up and write a number on each nappy corresponding to your master list. Line them up on a table. Guests get to feel the nappy bundles and try and guess what’s inside. The person who guesses the most number of objects wins a prize.

5. Play Dough Babies

Who doesn’t like to get creative with play dough? All you need are a few different coloured canisters of play dough and cupcake patty liners. On ‘go!’ guests get to mould their lump of play dough into the shape of a baby. Make it harder by setting a time limit, say 3 minutes. Give prizes for the funniest, ugliest, most realistic baby, or all three! Let mum-to-be judge the finished babies.

6. Nappy Notes

This is a sweet way to wrap up your baby shower games. Give each guest a nappy and a marker pen and have them write a funny joke, quote or words of encouragement on the back of the nappy. Collect them up in a nappy bag and give them to the mum-to-be to provide inspiration for those late-night nappy changes!

  • For my first baby shower I had pin the sperm on the egg and a few other games.
For my baby sprinkle (baby 2) I had a nursery rhyme theme, everything was related to a different nursery rhyme and everyone had to guess what each rhyme was based on the food or decoration.
I’ve played bling folded nappy change of a doll (got it done in under 30 seconds!) Your in teams and it’s sort of a relay type thing.
Heaps of fun games out there!
