Hello!

Many Australian’s health is in a pretty bad way despite the millions spent on health care, medications, and educational efforts. Sickness, disease and obesity rates continue to soar in adults as well as children.

Unless we step up and take responsibility for our own health and nutrition, the pattern will continue. A health coach will listen to your individual needs and guide you to make nutrition and lifestyle choices that will improve your health once and for all.

Here are 8 reasons why a health coach may benefit you:

1. You dream of weight loss without restrictive dieting

How many diets have you tried since your teenage years? How many of them have you stuck to? Most people don’t want to count calories for the rest of their life! A health coach works with you to make sustainable changes over time so that your weight comes off and stays off! You will together create a nutrition plan that is realistic for you and that will support a lifetime of good health!

2. Your energy and vitality has been on a downward spiral

You start the day feeling pretty good, or maybe you struggle to get up without a coffee. Work, home, life happens, then 3pm hits and BAM you are reaching for the next sugar or caffeine hit! Wouldn’t it be amazing to feel energised and full of vitality all day long! A health coach will give you nutritional and lifestyle recommendations that will give you all the energy you need to fuel you for the day.

3. Stress has been getting the better of you

You can’t remember the last time you took some time out for yourself? How long has it been since you stopped to smell the flowers, or even to chew your food properly? A Health coach will arm you with the tools for effective stress reduction and will introduce you to some game changing lifestyle habits.

4. You’ve been wondering how to add more exercise into your busy schedule

You started the year really well. Spin class. TICK. Walking to work. TICK. Work touch footy team. TICK. Somehow during the year things got busy, life happened, deadlines got in the way and you are left wondering when you last put on your sneakers? A health coach will help you get back to the basics and build effective and enjoyable exercise into your life.

5. You have cravings that you don’t know how to handle

If you could just work out why you reach for the chocolate biscuits at night or why you MUST have that coffee in the morning, life would be so much easier! A health coach will help to unravel the link between you and your cravings. They will work with you to understand what you might really be craving! (HINT – it may have nothing to do with food)

6. You’d love the tools to create healthy and delicious foods for your family

You love scrolling through beautiful food blogs or Instagram feeds but you don’t actually know how to cook great food that is simple, nutritious and will appeal to your whole family. A health coach will listen closely to the nutritional needs of you and your loved ones and give you practical tips or demonstrations on how to prepare these foods. A coach may walk you through a pantry makeover or take you on a supermarket tour so that you are armed with the knowledge (and pantry staples) to plan meals with your health in mind!

7. You can’t decide whether you should be paleo, vegan or breatharian

Maybe you’re wondering, if you should eat like your Palaeolithic ancestors? Or perhaps cut out animal products entirely and stick to things picked/grown in nature? There is so much information out there on the best way to eat and what is going to get you the results you’re after. A health coach will help you navigate the world of contradictory nutrition advice to determine what changes are necessary for YOU! They will provide ongoing support and guidance as you set goals and make sustainable changes that improve your health and happiness.

8. Discovering the confidence to create the life you want

You’ve been out of the workforce for a few years raising your kids. Or perhaps you’ve been dreaming of branching out to create your own business but fear is getting in the way! A health coach will be your ‘guide on the side’ to encourage, motivate and support you in making the changes you dream of. Having a coach hold you accountable when things get tough, is priceless! Health Coaching is growing fast in the US and is gaining momentum in Australia. Using a Health Coach to create a personalised road map to health is an extremely effective, satisfying and life changing (yes I’d go so far as to say that). Imagine if you could sit down with someone for a whole hour to discuss your health. What would your life look like if you had an individualised health care plan – complete with actionable steps, practical skills, accountability and support. Do something healthy for yourself today and talk to a health coach! Your life, health and happiness will improve!

  • Sounds lovely but unfortunately we can’t prioritize it at the moment. It will be something to consider in the future.

  • If only i could afford a health coach! I used to be able to do this all myself once-upon-a-time but as life continues, things just don’t work out as we’d love in our heads. I could go back to it but i’ve got more important things in my life to deal with right now.

  • In an ideal world, I think we all need a Health Coach. The reality is, we try and work through what fits best into our lifestyle.

    • absolutely! A health coach looks at everyones individual lifestyle and situations and can help motivate, support and hold you accountable to your goals!

  • Don’t think I need a health coach either. Maybe I could do with a bit more exercise but I’m very fit and flexible and live an active lifestyle. My overall health is good and so is our way of eating. I don’t suffer from any cravings and my weight is probably a bit below average, but feeling good with that and I’m sitting happy in my skin.

  • Don’t feel I need a coach – I know what to do and when to do it, but am held back by an ailing husband that I care for who is now unable to walk, but hates me walking without him. However, at 154cm and 56kg I’m pretty well within the correct BMI range and I don’t have any ailments to speak of, so must be doing the right thing somehow.

  • Sound good in theory… but in practice – how much do they cost. In France, with one of the bst health care systems in the world – they actually allow you to have a certain number of “claimable” dietician visit. With obesity becoming out of hand, we should also have free visits with health professionals even if only annually.

    • Free visits sounds amazing!!! unfortunately the government doesn’t yet subsidise health coaches but it’s only a matter of time. Luckily companies like health insurance are starting to see the amazing results that coaches can help their clients achieve so I’m sure before we know it there will be incentives for more people to have a coach who can taylor an individual plan instead of a one size fits all. xx

      • Health is a focus at the moment.

      • Fantastic! There are so many areas of our health hat are important and it’s really interesting to pinpoint which areas are out of balance. What are you looking to really focus on at the moment?

  • I think I’d need a health coach to control my cravings and to improve my self-esteem. But I expect a health coach to be quite expensive, so I can’t afford it.

    • That’s really interesting! Different coaches obviously price their packages differently but when you break it down over the period of a 6 month program you might be pleasantly surprised.

If you’re interested to find out how the whole program works and the cost breakdowns Id be happy to jump on the phone with you for a chat. xx
