Hair is a uniting thing amongst women. It is something we have all fought with, brushing, pinning, drying and straightening. A daily struggle we take for granted, so what happens when it’s gone?

  • When I was young, I wasn’t allowed to have long hair, I had to have the boy style crop….cut by dad on the back verandah one Sunday a month. When I hit my teens, I grew it! And grew it and haven’t stopped. For most of my adult life I’ve had hair down to my bum. I would be devastated to lose it

  • My girlfriend went through chemo and dealing with hair loss.
She looked amazing without hair and i often thought that if it was me I dont think I would look very attractive at all and im not sure that i could cope as well as she did.

  • brave chickas! I lost about a third or more of my head hair for over a year. thin and whispy, I got it cut off to ear level and it changed me totally – for the better. Who would have known! Still thinner but has somewhat grown back… It does not define me though. Go girls

  • I lost about 40%, and now have short hair, and my nails are stubs, but I am alive and happy and that is what counts xxx

  • Two close friends have just reached the 12 month mark after breast cancer treatment (within weeks of each other). They are rocking their new hairstyles and their zest for life is inspiring. Thankyou for sharing this video and reminding us on how precious life really is.

  • My sister in law struggled with wigs and scarves or hats when she lost her hair due to breast cancer therapies. When it came back again 3-4 years later, she just said – I’m still me, if people can’t look at me without my hair, then that’s their problem.” And she went hatless and without hair from then on – said it took a lot of stress out of her life.
PS She had beautifully curly blonde hair prior to the hair loss, but she realised she was worried for other people rather than herself in the end.

  • what brave ladies. Hair isn’t important in the big scheme of things, life is, but i do understand that it would be hard to lose your hair. Cancer steals a lot from a person. I never judge a lady who doesn’t have hair but rather see the unhidden beauty that they radiate. Their smiles seem to stand out even more
