Sisters heartbreaking message to all road users, after two little girls lost their mum over the weekend.
Nicole Reilly warned all drivers to wear seatbelts to avoid the grief and heartbreak her family are suffering after the death of her sister, Antoinette Foale, 37.
Mrs Reilly said her sister was an extremely kind-hearted and generous person who adored her children.
She said her sister could be an impulsive person who would live in the moment, and in a split second may have been distracted enough to forget to put her seatbelt on.
“It was a silly thing for her not to wear a seatbelt,” she said
“If I could prevent the pain my family are going through, and I have reminded my children, who are of driving age, of that fact.”
Ms Foale was killed on Saturday night when her car crashed into a tree about 5km away from her Boyanup home, reports The West Australian.
She was not wearing a seatbelt and sustained horrific injuries that ultimately robbed her two daughters, Matilda, 8 and Grace, 7, of their mother.
The reality of Ms Foale’s death hit home on Sunday night when Ms Foale’s youngest daughter requested Amazing Grace, a song previously sung to her by her musical mother, to make her feel better.
“It’s going to be a long hard road ahead for the girls because they just adored their mum,” Mrs Reilly said. “She was one of those mums who sang to her girls every day, read them stories every day, cooked with them and wrote poetry for them, she was extremely devoted to the girls,” she said.
Our thoughts are with Antoinette’s family and friends.
