Hello!

An Aussie Aldi expert shopper has gone viral on TikTok sharing her favourite secret foodie highlights. You may have to rush to Aldi before these popular products are sold out.

Sydney foodie @mernasfoodfomo has shared her top Aldi secret picks in a series of videos that’s since been viewed more than 180,000 times.

Some of her secret highlights includes Aldi’s delicious dupes of much pricier original products available in the more traditional supermarkets.

Choceur Liviano

One of her favourite top secret picks is the Aldi’s version of Kinder Bueno called Liviano.

“I think it’s like a little secret that Aldi has the best chocolate ever and this is a dupe for Bueno – yum!” foodie Merna says in the clip, holding up a 150g packet of Choceur Liviano Hazelnut Creme bars.

Liviano is available in a pack of seven individually-wrapped ‘fingers’, costing only $2.49 for the whole pack – that’s only 35 cents a bar, compared to the brand-name original, which is around $1 – $2 a bar.

Chocolopita Hazelnut Praline

Merna’s favourite secret product is the ‘holy grail’ of desserts – Aldi’s new Chocolopita Hazelnut Praline, a sweet pastry pie with a chocolate centre.

Summer Delight

Another must-have addition to your Aldi trolley is Summer Delight ice cream, which is Aldi’s outstanding version of Golden Gaytime.

The ice-cream is available in bars as well as in the super-convenient tub for only $3.99.

Spanakopita

And when it comes to savoury products, Merna recommends Aldi’s popular frozen Greek-style spanakopita. In the clip, Merna explains how easy it is to cook the spanakopita, which she claims to hoard boxes of.

“It’s beautiful, buttery and crunchy on the outside and then you’ve got this gorgeous spinach and ricotta mix on the inside,” Merna said.

And it will only set you back $7.

But her viewers were a bit bummed that she had just given away Aldi’s ‘best kept secret’!

“DON’T TELL EVERYONE,” one commenter said.

“Why did you show this everyone one is going to take them now lol,” another quipped.

  • Don’t shop at Aldi as my super fund [and all of your super funds] are unable to access the profits from this company as it all goes back to private owners in Germany. If you shop at Aldi you are cutting off your nose to spite your face.
