Hello!

A month or two ago, we shared the news about Aldi releasing a Unicorn marshmallow-flavoured gin. But now, we’ve got even better news, the discount retailer will soon be selling a gin that literally changes colour. How Cool!

The ‘magical’ spirit is a Scottish craft gin infused with hand-selected botanicals. It is made using the petals of the Butterfly Pea Flower which causes the gin to change colour when the acidity of the drink changes.

Add A Dash Of Pink Or Blue

To make the gin change from blue to pink or back again, all you need to do is add tonic water or a squeeze of lemon to change the pH of the alcohol.

McQueen Forest Fruits Colour Changing Gin is available as part of the liquor special buys on Wednesday 30 October in selected NSW, ACT, VIC and WA stores and costs $49.99.

There are a number of additional alcoholic beverages on offer as part of the same sale – including Rose Champagne for $29.99 or Pimms No. 1 for $34.99.

This gin is going to make an awesome cocktail party trick at Christmas.

Other Bargains

While you’re at Aldi, you can also pick up some toy bargains on the same day. There’s a Mr or Mrs Potato Head for $14.99, boardgames, books and plush toys, all for discounted prices.

Or you can grab a massive 65″ TV for a mere $799.

  • Interesting. I do like the idea of it. I used to drink original clear gin but have noticed the popularity in gin of late. I’ve also noticed a pink version. The blue and pink gin look great. I haven’t tasted either though.
