An Allergy Alert has been issued by Cadbury concerning a change to the Cadbury Creme Egg range.

Cadbury would like to advise consumers of different allergens within its Cadbury Creme Egg range.

Some of the Cadbury Creme Egg range contain egg/wheat/soy while others within the same range do not.

To help alert consumers of the different allergens within the Creme Egg range this year, Cadbury has produced a sticker listing allergens for its Creme Egg point-of-sale display towers, and these should be seen in store however, you still need to read the ingredient list of all products purchased as products can be moved around the store.

Cadbury always encourages consumers to read labels carefully every time you purchase the product. Do not presume a product is safe because you have eaten it before – always check ingredients.

  • Unfortunately some customers take them, decide they don’t want them and don’t put them back in the right place. Ingredients do change in some items. If you have any allergy or disease that you cannot have some ingredients it takes a lot longer doing the shopping. Even some sauces and salad dressings have wheat or barley in them. Try buying dairy free food. It is even harder to find and often more expensive than products which don’t contain wheat. Quite a lot of products contain milk solids or milk powder in them.

  • I don’t understand how something that is ultimately the same product just in difference sizes and shapes can have a such a variety of allergy warnings? Surely the creamy goodness inside is made the same way each time? And the chocolate casing is surely the same chocolate for each one? No wonder parents get so frustrated when their kids have allergies companies are really making it hard for them to work out what is what!

  • Oh dear, so kids with allergies also miss out on Easter eggs…..to an extent. I am so glad my kids didn’t suffer from any food allergies, as a parent you would always be on high alert

  • Thank you for the information.

  • But the products look so similar. Does everybody really reads all the ingredients? I think it would have been better to give a different name to the creme eggs with wheat. At least the products would be easy to identify on the shelves.

  • It doesn’t effect me but it is good to be alerted for the people affected.
