One TikTok user has shared a hack that apparently ‘changes the game’ when it comes to your cheese plate – simply remove the knife and let your Arnotts cracker do the slicing!

Over 225 thousand people have watched TikTok user, Lucas Rutherford’s, hack where he uses the serrated edges of his Arnotts Savoy cracker to cut his cheese…. WHAT?!?

Lucas says the little nifty hack is ‘mind blowing’ and many commenters agree with him. One commenter claimed he would be throwing out all of his knives moving forward, whilst another said it will ‘change my cheese game’.

@lucas.rutherfordToday years old when I found this out… ##foryou ##fyp♬ original sound – lucaspaul95

Arnotts even had something to say on the matter with news.com.au reporting that the Australian Brand said Luke’s video was ‘innovative and clever’, though they also said that they ‘can’t confirm the edges were originally created for slicing cheese’.

Not all commenters on Lucas’s TikTok video were overly impressed, some said the hack was ‘not even a hack’ and pointed out that it wouldn’t work if you liked a thicker slice of cheese. I must admit, my jaw certainly did not drop to the ground with this ‘hack’ – I do feel like you would have to slice the cheese first to get it to a point where you can use this little trick, but it certainly seems like something my kids would get a kick out of.

Either way, it certainly saves on the washing up!

What do you think? Genius or obvious? Will you be using the latest Arnotts cracker hack when it comes to your next cheese platter?

  • Fair enough. Sounds like a cool idea.

  • Small children do this as well.

  • I’m pretty sure the cracker would just break

  • I think the cracker would break cutting hard cheese but be ok for brie

  • Clever hack – thanks for posting.

  • It’s perfect because it will mean you don’t need to leave a knife on the table for everyone to use. I think you’d have to slice the cheese before putting it on the plate and then people could cut the cheese on the plate to suit them. If they want a thicker slice on their biscuit they could just cut 2 of the slices. Great idea if it works

  • It would have to be a very soft cheese!

  • Not sure how effective this would be for hard cheese, or thicker slices, but clever all the same ….

  • An interesting hack but I don’t think it’s going to change the way we slice our cheese to put on crackers. Give me a good cheese board and cheese knife any day.

  • I rather like my cheese knife. I don’t think I’d use this hack though. Old habits die hard…

    • I like our selection of cheese knives too – a cheese board and side plates and knives always look so good on a table.

      • Yes, different knifes for different cheese :)

      • Absolutely! No cross contamination of different cheeses! :)

  • An interesting hack for cheese slices; but a knife would still be needed for thicker and harder cheeses or even softer and thicker cheeses with dense textures.
