Hello!

I have made a magic forest bravery board game. For tokens we are using princess figures from kinder surprise.
The rules:
Start with 2 brave hearts, you must have at least 1 to finish if you have none then you go back to the start which you get 1 brave heart to start.
You will come across vines which get you ahead if you have a brave heart to climb them, sometimes more than 1 if its a big vine. You will meet scary creatures which can be defeated using brave hearts. The winner is the first person to the end who has at least 1 brave heart left.
This gives hours of fun!

Material

  • 2 pieces cardboard or thick paper
  • 2 pencils different colours
  • 1 pack coloured pens (I use glitter gel pens)
  • 1 ruler
  • 1 die
  • various figures or tokens for players

Method

  1. Using the ruler width as a guide draw boxes onto 1st piece of paper. Colour them in a checkerboard style with the pencils. Number the boxes from 1 upwards (I got to 70).
  2. Using coloured pens draw obstacles or rewards in some of the boxes.
For example: troll - 3 spaces, 2 trolls - 6 spaces, +1 bravery, -1 bravery, +4 bravery, poison frog kiss sleep - for 1 turn, refreshing water roll again, vines to climb, snakes to slide back, sleeping troll roll a 5 or 3 to sneak past, etc. Make sure you have at least 3 of each thing, you can always add more if its not enough when you play.
  3. Bravery tokens. I chose heart shapes. Make a template of your shape from the 2nd piece of cardboard, use this to draw and cut out the whole sheet, write brave hearts or bravery on each one and have the kids decorate them.

Notes

You can use a metallic paint pen to really define the boxes. If you love the design laminate it to keep playing over and over.
Use diffrent shapes for the bravery cards. I chose love hearts because I have a daughter and she loves hearts.
Older kids can do this themselves with some help.
