Make meal times fun by getting the kids to make their own placemats.

  • 2 pieces of decorated paper
  • 2 laminator sheet pockets
  • 1 laminator

  1. Have your child decorate the paper as they like.
  2. Seal in a laminator pocket and laminate.

Notes... You can double the fun by making a second placemat picture and laminating them back to back to create a front and a back picture.

  • What a brilliant idea.

  • I’ve made DIY placemats that we bring out Christmas Day. They always get a laugh. Each has the family member’s name and a funny/old photo. They’re about 10 years old now, so everyone’s screaming for an update. Personally, I love them!!

  • made some for the grand mothers for mothers day-they loved them (although they were hung up!)

  • Love it! What a wonderful idea.

  • What a great idea…. now, how to choose that 1 great piece of art ????

  • Very nice ! If only I would have a laminator !

  • I have some laminated letters from my grandchildren and use them when they come over. Great fun, but getting cringe worthy soon methinks.

  • Love them …you have some budding artists in the making. <3
Maybe when these ones wear out they could draw and paint their favourite foods.
    Thanks for sharing.

  • This is an awesome craft idea. Good for gifts for grandparents or friends but also great for kids to make their own placemats. And so easy to make they can make more when their tastes change and they’d like different ones.

  • A great craft idea for the kids! Thanks so much!

  • A laminator is such a wonderful item for craft ideas.

    • I bought it for work but find I end up using it more with my kids!

      • LOL! Our machine gets a good work out too. :)

  • Laminating drawing is such a great idea. With my daughter we laminated a collection of Christmas cards and we use those placemats at Christmas time. :-)
