Remember you can always trim your rug after it is finished, its sometimes easier to use longer strips that can be tied easily

Material

  • 1 Bag of scrap fabric
  • 1 piece of raw weave hessian (potato sack)
  • 1 knitting needle
  • 1 Pair of scissors

Method

  1. Cut your hessian into the shape and size you would like your rug
  2. Cut or rip your fabric strips into approximately 1cm wide strips, the length of each scrap will depend on how 'plush' you want your rug.
  3. Using your knitting needle thread or 'hook' your fabric through the webbing of the hessian and tie off the ends.

Notes

You can also draw on a pattern with a permanent marker and fill in the blocks with single colors
