  • I never thought if these when my kids were babies. I have made similar ones for my puppy though. She just loved the plastic bottle full of rice

  • These are great! I repurpose bubble wands with food dye, glitter, soap or oil, and some sequins. They make great magic wands also. Once I even had microphone bubble tubes, so that added more sparkle to concerts

  • Sensory bottles are enjoyed by so many different children of varying abilities in my preschool. One of our favourite activities is to make our own sensory bottles with the children choosing what to place in the bottles. They can also be used as musical instruments depending on what is inside the bottle – rice, pasta, sand, popsticks, bottle tops, etc. all make different sounds when shaken or tapped.

  • We use these in our classroom and the children love to use them as a calming tool. We have used multiple different recipes and the children love exploring what is inside of them.

  • Rice in a small sealed container makes a great rattle for babies (and toddlers).
Our kids played with that more than fancy rattles.
