The Australian man who died after falling overboard on a cruise ship in the Caribbean has been identified as 37-year-old entrepreneur and dad-of-two Jon Pfahl.
Mr Pfalh had been cruising with his wife and children on the Royal Caribbean’s Symphony of the Seas from St Kitts to St Thomas when the tragic incident occurred.
We reported earlier that the cruise ship dispatched a rescue boat, but unfortunately Mr Pfahl was already deceased and his body was recovered and returned to the ship.
Mr Pfahl was originally born in Sydney and started the Rockstar Group which mentors and invests in businesses.
Heart-Felt Tributes
Tributes have been flooding in since the report of this tragic death.
Family and friends of the London-based entrepreneur have described the man as a “true rockstar” and “outrageous, charismatic, talented” with a “huge heart”.
Karen Melonie Gould, a friend of My Pfahl, described waking to the “devastating news that my great friend and mentor Jonathan Pfahl died yesterday”.
“He will be greatly missed, I had a lot of love and respect for this very talented young man,” she said.
“He loved life and lived it to the full, my sincere condolences go out to his family.
“He was known to many as JP the legend, particularly to many young entrepreneurs whom he inspired, he believed in me when I did not believe in myself.”
The investigation is still underway by the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade.
Our thoughts are with the family during this difficult time.
