In Paris for Fashion Week, Kim Kardashian and Kanye West are having their first trip away together without 3-month-old baby North West, taking in fashion shows and dinners.

Kim, who has been snapped in the City of Light wearing a gold nameplate necklace with North’s nickname, Nori, has managed to pick up a few souvenirs for their baby – in the form of a suitcase load of top-shelf duds given to them by designers. The reality star posted a host of snaps on Instagram on Oct. 1 of her daughter’s impressive swag: frilled dresses and skirts from Lanvin, snakeskin slip-on shoes from Celine and that essential baby item, a leather dress from Alexander Wang. At least it’s easy to wipe off any mashed banana. (Check out all the ridiculous outfits on her Twitter page here)

North, who is being cared for in Los Angeles by grandma Kris Jenner and nannies, is yet to make her fashionable public debut. The most the parents have shared is a cute photo her dad revealed on Kris Jenner’s talk show, and the glimpse of a leg under a baby blanket at Kanye’s grandfather’s funeral in August. When she does emerge, will it be in a feminine Lanvin ensemble, maybe her customised Givenchy T-shirt, a Celine pullover or perhaps her baby lab coat from Maison Martin Margiela? We’re predicting a fashion showdown between her and Harper Beckham.

  • They grow so quickly, I personally find it excessive and would rather spend the money elsewhere

  • I think when you’re in the public eye of course these things are important as you will be judged on it. On an everyperson level kmart has some cute clothes for like 2 dollars (although I try where possible to by ethically sourced clothing)

  • Fashion is in the eye of the beholder. ;)

    • Kids will play and get dirty in clothes! ;)

  • i think that it is really absurd but then again, there is a market for it

  • well we can’t compare ourselves to celebrities because the majority of us, don’t have their type of income. i think what you wear is more important than what brand it is and i think that i would rather spend my money on the child for other reasons.

  • I really feel sorry for this sweet little bub – what a life ahead :(

  • If I had endless amounts of money or bugger all, or somewhere in between I would still like to dress my child the way I do. Their child, their decisions.

  • Hmm very interesting clothing choices.

  • What they do, what they spend their money on doesn’t affect me and my life – they’re all over the top anyway and that’s just the way they live their lives.

  • Do they need it?? I’m pretty sure the answer is no.

  • Who puts a baby in a leather dress?

    Reply

  • I don’t think our kids should be wearing designer clothing unless their parents are rich and they are in the limelight

  • Oh dear – hopefully they appreciate her as a baby and not just as a marketing tool

    Reply

  • apparently the Kardashian babies do

  • Designer bay clothes are fine in my opinion, as long as the kid is still allowed to be a kid. If designer clothes mean no paying or running around for fear of damaging the clothes, then no way
