If you have a baby on the way and haven’t had a babymoon yet, Ovolo hotels have launched the ultimate luxury babymoon experience for mums and dads to be, including not just a stay at one of their unique boutique hotels but a pregnancy massage, baby sleep consultant session, yummy loot bag full of treats and a pregnancy pillow to keep that bump comfy for a great night’s sleep.

If this is your first baby, trust me – you’ll be wanting to have some quality one-on-one time with your partner and some serious pampering before baby comes… for once they arrive, it will be a while before you’ll have the chance again!

We were lucky enough to road test Ovolo’s Babymoon Package, and stayed in the Ovolo 1888 in Pyrmont which is housed in a former historic wool store in the heart of Pyrmont and located right next to Darling Harbour.

The Ovolo Babymoon Package is available at any Ovolo Hotel across Australia and includes a 60-minute pregnancy massage with Get Blys and a 30-minute newborn sleep consultation with Bubba Bedtime.

Sheer Bliss

The pregnancy massage was absolutely divine (even better as I didn’t even have to leave the room) and despite being a second-time mum, I still learnt some really useful baby sleep hacks. I thought I had it covered, but I had forgotten about the hours of shushing, rocking and sleep deprivation! Not only do you get a 30 minute session with a sleep expert, but they also give you a 60 page sleep program. Mums-to-be take note – get yourself a Miracle Blanket and Baby Shusher! And I did not know there were scientifically proven times when babies nap best – if only I had known this first time around…

Whether or not you’re on a babymoon, it’s the little details that make Ovolo hotels so awesome – when you book direct, every room has a free in-room mini bar, free breakfast, free loot bag with sweet and savoury snacks, Apple TV and Alexa in your room (premium Spotify on demand!) and free social happy hour. And as you’re pregnant, definitely go for a room with a bath… the baths are luxuriously deep and beautiful to relax in before your massage.

Gourmet Dinner

While we were at the Ovolo 1888, we decided to treat ourselves to a delicious dinner at the hotel’s restaurant Mister Percy – knowing that once bubba comes, there will be no such luxury as lingering over a gourmet dinner! The restaurant and wine bar is stunningly decorated and has a coastal Mediterranean menu complementing the unique wine selection (boo – no wine for me!). I had the spaghetti with spanner crab and silverbeet for entree, the Cone Bay barramundi with celeriac, pencil leeks and salmoriglio for main and the Roasada Veneta, red fruits and lemon curd for dessert (…and most of my husband’s tiramisu). The food was absolutely divine – simple, seasonal and local fare prepared beautifully. A seriously romantic way to reconnect with my husband in an intimate venue over an utterly delicious meal.

  • Wow! That sounds good! When I first heard of a baby moon, I honestly thought it was after the baby was born. A time where there were no visitors and the parents (and siblings) could get to know the baby without the constant interruption of guests! That’s what I had tried for with my first. I didn’t want any visitors for the first 2 weeks. But my in-laws really didn’t understand, and still visited EVERY SINGLE DAY despite my husband asking them to stay elsewhere for a week so we could get used to the new baby and how things would be done.
Anyway this baby moon looks great… even better if they had a babysitting service for older siblings

You certainly had a wonderful time. I guess you won’t have time to steal and eat part of your husband’s luxurious desserts for awhile after your bundle of joy arrives
