Hello!

IKEA is moving with the times. In case you’ve been waiting for your annual IKEA catalogue to be popped into your mailbox, you probably should stop waiting. For the first time ever, IKEA Australia has made the decision not to distribute its 2020 catalogue via letterboxes.

You can still pick up your copy of the latest IKEA Catalogue in-store but for many, the new dynamic digital catalogue will be the way many customers will be checking out the new products on sale.

“The way that customers want to receive and interact with content is changing and we, as a business, need to meet these changing needs. The value of the content within the IKEA catalogue is richer than ever before, and with the provision of an expansive digital version, in addition to the original format delivered alongside the range in store, we feel customers will gain even more from the 2020 version of the IKEA Catalogue,” said Ryan Burman, Country Commercial Activity Leader for IKEA Australia.

The digital format of the catalogue is interactive and shoppers will be able to access ‘How To’s’ and videos. There will also be opportunities to shop the range while viewing the IKEA catalogue online.

Kids Stuff In The Latest IKEA Catalogue

Parents will be interested in some of the highlights in this year’s catalogue including:

RÖDHAKE – a new baby textiles range for the baby’s nursery – inspired by Swedish fairy tales. The RÖDHAKE series includes baby hooded towels, wash cloths, bed canopy, linen and a quilt cover.

We’ve got our eye on MOPPE – a mini chest with drawers. It’s made of untreated wood so you can paint and decorate it as you wish. It has a price tag of $129.

The ever popular CIRKUSTÄLT is back. This iconic circus tent creates a sheltered spot, a room in the room, to play or just cuddle up in. It costs $19.99.

There’s also a cute new kids’ dinner plate range called HEROISK. These are colourful, impact-resistant and grip-friendly. Perfect for small children who tend to drop, spill and make a mess in their eagerness to learn how to eat on their own. You can buy them for $7.99 for a 2 pack.

We also love the MINNEN – which is a kids bed with an extendable frame to grow as your child grows, priced at $199. It comes in a white and brand new dark yellow colour.

  • Problem for me is the delivery cost and then everything is flat pack and needs to be put together. No thanks

  • I do like Ikea – decent quality at a reasonable price.

  • I’m not really an IKEA fan, no.

  • I have always used the Ikea on line store to find what I need anyway

  • This will save a lot of paper and is the way a lot of companies are going. That book can be heavy as I use to years ago deliver it to houses. This way if interested you can go to the shop and get one, just like we do now with phone books.

  • Never shopped there

  • I’d rather have had the option…I receive a lot of digital newsletters for clubs I’m involved in but I would have preferred this in hard copy. General rule for anything ill only read a couple of time I go digital, anything I’ll reference hardcopy.

  • We upcycle any paper material (like junk mail) for things like craft. I’m going to need to be creative and find other ways to do craft without magazines to paint on, use for cutting practice etc!

  • Yep. Received mine by email just haven’t looked at it yet. I understand why they have done digital but like others and do prefer the paper copy.

  • Personally i prefer to sit down with coffee and flip pages…i am going to miss it

  • For something like the Ikea catalog, which I go back to repeatedly, I prefer hard copy.

  • I understand everything is digital now and we don’t want to use paper, but… I loved receiving the catalogue in the mail. You could dog-ear pages and keep it in the magazine rack, going back to it regularly over the year. I probably won’t even check out the digital version now, but if I do, I don’t imagine I’ll go back to it repeatedly like I did with the hard copy.

  • I prefer catalogues to be online because it saves paper. I hate seeing catalogues littering the streets!

  • I like everything online. Peace of mind and saving resources.

    • I agree with the careful and sustainable use of resources.
