Hello!

One of the biggest mistakes that I believe we as women make is assuming that our significant others want us to make their lives easier.

We do the most ridiculous things like purchase laundry hampers and then place them in locations which are convenient for our partners to access – only to have them throw their dirty garments onto the floor within centimetres of the hamper itself.

We put their tools away in cupboards which have been labeled according to what’s inside.

“Tools”, “Car Cleaning”, “Screws, Nuts and Bolts” –  only to have them turn to us in their time of desperate searching to ask us where their belongings could possibly be.

They’re Suddenly ‘Blind’

Perhaps the funniest part is that before turning to us in a state of sheer panic, they actually attempt to search in all of these places – only to not actually ‘see’ what they’re looking for.

It’s not a matter of “finding it”- heavens no, any fool can FIND a drill in the cupboard marked “power tools”!

They simply cannot SEE the item they are looking for even when it’s staring them straight in the face!

It’s a constant occurrence as well. I mean it’s not as though after the first ten times of showing them where it is they miraculously remember.

I’m The Hero!

No, for the last ten years I’ve had to be the seeker of my husband’s “missing” things and it’s almost as though we are our partner’s heroes when it comes to locating anything they need.

Maybe they enjoy this game they play!

What if it’s some sort of activity that all the blokes play against their significant others!

“Honey have you seen my…?” could all just be an act! For their entertainment!

Or maybe it’s love? Perhaps these men are actually so incredibly blinded by their love for us that they can’t actually ‘see’ anything else!

Either way I will never grow tired of the reaction I get every single time my hubby asks me whether I’ve seen his missing possessions and I accuse him of being in love with me!

Repaying the irritation he causes me with more irritation – priceless!

  • Maybe Ive got one that was brought up right. He knows how to cook and clean and is very able to care for himself. He even does laundry.

  • I think it has to do with hormones. After my sister suffered a brain aneurysm she had the same problem. I think her hormones were altered as she was far less feminine post aneurysm.

  • Yes so blind. I often reply when he asks where something is, probably right in front of you. Since now most of my children also have his blindness I have taken to replying no idea when they ask where something is, especially if I know it is in it’s usual spot.

  • Selective blindness like selective deafness. I think women tend to have a giggle amongst themselves regarding it as surely men don’t believe we are that gullible!

  • I always ask how did you look for what you want? Did you do it the ‘male’ way or the ‘female’ way?
We have a laugh as I retrieve what he is looking for.

  • Just today my husband informed me that he’d searched the fridge and was certain we were out of butter. It took me approximately 30 seconds to locate it…

  • The laundry hamper!!!! I went through a stage of not washing his clothes if they weren’t in the basket then he’d all where his favorite shorts were haha

  • yep can so relate, things like do you know where my favourite shirt is? is normally met with when did you wear it last, or all the washing has been put away look in your drawer, then he goes i cannot see it, and then I walk into the bedroom, open the drawer and it is the shirt on top of the pile!

The laundry hamper is for collecting dirty clothes on it or the end of the bed which is really frustrating!

Don’t even get me started with putting dirty dishes into the sink after walking past the dishwasher! – we have a dirty dishes magnet and he will constantly ask me about the drawer that has the magnet on it going is it clean or dirty???? I mean wtf!

So i totally get this article it is my life with my husband to a T
