Hello!

The body of missing toddler, Ruben Scott has been found, Queensland Police have said.

The nation has been waiting with bated breath to hear news about the two-year-old boy who went missing on Tuesday near the Koolatah Station homestead, on the western side of Cape York Peninsula.

His body was found by police divers in a large dam located near the homestead on Friday afternoon.

‘Our thoughts go out to Ruben’s family, friends and the communities of Maramie and Kowanyama, as well as everyone involved in the search during this difficult time,’ police said in a statement.

Police divers yesterday joined the massive search for a toddler missing on a crocodile-infested property in far north Queensland.

Emergency crews, cattle station crews and graziers with private helicopters spent Wednesday searching for the boy on the station, 270km north of Karumba on the western side of Cape York Peninsula.

Gentle Boy

“Ruben is a very fun and outgoing little boy with a very sarcastic sense of humour,” his mum, Natasha Scott, told 7NEWS on Wednesday.

“He’s very gentle and always loves to do hands on things. He loves his cars, trucks and anything with wheels on them.”

Such a tragic end to this story. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family.

  • I am sick to death of seeing people of sub continental heritage in my area who don’t have car seats for their children. They put them in a basket in the foot well of their cars!!!!!

  • A lonely death, gone too soon, this world has lost a lovely, lively young man. A better death then a croc but still a terrible death for anyone.

  • Rest in Peace Ruben. Such a heartbreaking end for all involved.

A big thank you to all the volunteers and ES workers who searched for him, it must be terribly hard for them as well.

  • I would like to know how he got away, how long they were not looking at him for. It must’ve been a while? They never said. Farms can be very dangerous, strong fencing needed around the home etc. What a horrible thing to happen, the poor family. R.I.P.

  • Heartbreaking and tragedy. No child should lose a life like he did. My sympathy to his parents, other relatives and friends. Children are usually adventurous and have no thought of danger. They can be with you one minute, moved away the next.
