REPORTS just in a chlorine bomb was found in the grounds of Pittwater House school.

It’s understood the bomb was discovered on the school grounds about 9am by a janitor and who put it in a garbage bag and placed it on the nature strip outside the school.

The Daily Telegraph reports, for public safety reasons, police closed South Creek Rd to traffic between Pittwater Rd and Parkes Rd, causing inconvenience to motorists in surrounding streets.

While chlorine bombs can be dangerous to anyone touching them, they are not considered dangerous to anyone standing at a short distance away.

Nevertheless police felt the safest course of action was to close South Creek Rd.

  • I hope he watched it and made sure nobody else touched it. I wonder if there was a safer place the Janitor could have put it.
A well meaning person could have picked it up to put it in a garbage bin or skip.
