In what is becoming an almost daily event, a further 18 Queensland schools and one kindergarten have been evacuated after receiving new bomb threats this morning.

The Department of Education and Training this morning confirmed schools across Queensland received similar calls.

“A number of Queensland state schools today received calls of a threatening nature,” a DETE spokesperson said.  “All of these schools immediately contacted police and have enacted emergency procedures based on police advice.  “The Department is working with police to ensure all students and staff are safe.”

  • When is this sort of childish madness going to stop?

  • It appears they are all Public Schools. I am wondering if a group are keeping the Police busy at the schools while they plot something else. It makes you eonder if they have very strong google maps and can watch the exterior movement of the people outside the school. On some systems you can distinguish what vehicles are on a property, whereas others only show the location.

  • This is just getting ridiculous now… I hope they stop the people responsible soon because it is causing too much disruption.

  • This is so frustrating for all touched by these events. What a waste, on so many levels.
