Hello!

Just in case you’re still got a free corner in your house for more collectables, you’ll be thrilled to know that a brand new collectable promo is about to fly into our life. Make way for Woolworths Disney+ Ooshies, featuring a host of favourite princesses and superheroes.

I suspected that Woolworths wouldn’t put up with Coles launching a new collectable campaign, without them getting a piece of the action. Coles launched the Little Treehouse books collection a few weeks ago. And now the other major supermarket has followed up with the Woolworths Disney+ Ooshies.

This is not the first time that Woolies has dabbled in Ooshies. We’re sure you remember the Lion King Ooshies program from last year. Well, we pretty sure, the Woolworths Disney+ Ooshies are going to be an even bigger hit!

Superhero And Princesses

We actually predicted the new collectable theme over a year ago when we wrote about the rumour that Woolies was going to launch a set of Marvel superhero ooshies. Well, we weren’t 100% right but the new Woolworths Disney+ Ooshies do include the Marvel superheroes, as well as popular characters from Star Wars, Disney and Pixar.

As usual, shoppers will need to spend $30 in-store or online to collect their Woolworths Disney+ Ooshies characters.

The fun collection includes a total of 36 Ooshies to collect, featuring nine Ooshies from each of the four Disney+ universes (Marvel, Star Wars, Disney and Pixar). Characters include Frozen’s Elsa, Captain Marvel and Woody from Toy Story.

Bringing Magic

“It’s been a difficult year as Australians navigate the challenges of the pandemic, so our goal by partnering with Disney once again is to bring more magic, surprise and delight to our customers,” said Woolworths chief marketing officer Andrew Hicks.

To prevent a repeat of recycling scandals from previous collections, Woolies has announced that shoppers can drop their ‘used’ Ooshies in the shops and will be turned into plastic pellets to help create products such as garden beds, decks and fences, via TerraCycle.

When?

The Woolworths Disney+ Ooshies campaign launches on 26 August in all supermarkets, except for Victoria.

Victorians Will Have To Wait For Their Magic

“We know some customers in Victoria will be disappointed by the delayed roll out, but the safety and wellbeing of our customers, team members, and community remains our number one priority,” Mr Hicks said.

“The delay will allow our team to focus on operations and supplying customers with their everyday essentials during this challenging period.

“Once restrictions ease and we can safely roll out the program, we look forward to sharing the Disney magic with our Victorian customers.”

A full list of Woolworths Disney+ Ooshies will be revealed closer to the launch date.

  • Neighbours didn’t want me to collect for them this time as they are in the process of moving. Wouldn’t bother for myself.

    • Ooshies are fun for imaginative play and no doubt the Disney Ooshies will be just as popular.

  • Firstly, I don’t shop at Woolworths but secondly, I’m a bit fatigued by these collectibles. The Coles books are fantastic and different and worthwhile, but I think the plastic collectibles have had their time.

  • I’m currently collecting the little books from Coles, as that’s where I usually shop. I have been disappointed as I seem to get lots of the same ones, cant see me completing a full set st this rate

  • love them but hate them. They are super cute and a great incentive to when having to go to the shops and the kids are whinging about it, however they also cause fights.
