A pregnant woman and three children are reportedly trapped in a car that’s collided with a freight train on the NSW mid north coast.

Police confirmed the accident at Coralville, just north of Taree.

A pregnant woman and three children were in a car involved in the accident, a Westpac Helicopter spokesman told AAP on Thursday.

“It’s a disaster,” he said.

The children are reportedly aged seven, four and two, according to 2GB.

Three helicopters are on route to the accident.

A two-year-old girl and a seven-year-old both have serious head injuries and are being airlifted to hospital, a NSW ambulance spokeswoman told AAP.

Another seven-year-old and the adult woman are being transferred by ambulance to Port Macquarie hospital.
