Hello!

I’ve been on the lookout for weeks! I’ve searched Kmart shelves and I’ve been stalking the online store. But so far it’s eluded me. But now Kmart’s latest hot-in-demand product has popped up in Bunnings and I couldn’t be more excited.

I’m talking about the instant hot water dispenser, that popped up in Kmart a few weeks ago. At the time, we were pretty disgruntled that the giant retailer teased us with the launch of this revolutionary kettle replacement and then didn’t have enough stock to satisfy the enthusiastic demand.

Sadly, when we click on the online page for the Kmart hot water dispenser, we’re met with the depressing message – “This product is no longer available”. Oh, how our dreams for an instantaneous cup of hot tea are being shattered.

Bunnings To The Rescue

But, thank goodness, there is more to life than Kmart! Bunnings has come to the rescue with their own version of the instant hot water dispenser. And it costs only $18 more.

At present, the Bunnings version of the instant hot water dispenser is only available online for $87 via Marketlink – meaning that the product is technically not a Bunnings’ item but is sold and fulfilled by KG Electronics, which is a ‘Bunnings Trusted Seller’.

The Bunnings kettle substitute has a 1.8 litre tank and heats water to 98C in just eight seconds. Now that’s fast. It also uses energy saving – using 20 per cent less energy than regular household kettles. Other features include a detachable water tank, double thermal controller and a kid-safe cool touch body.

Bunnings is also selling a more premium 2.7L Westinghouse version, but that’s going for $199.95, which may be difficult to justify, especially since you can pick up a kettle for a couple of bucks.

Love It!

Those who have been lucky enough to snag an instant hot water dispenser are in love.

“I love mine and literally don’t know how I’ve lived without it lol. The number of times in the past that I’ve boiled the kettle and then had kids distract me so I forget to make my cuppa. Now I have instant hot water and it’s brilliant,” said one mum on a facebook group.

“Reminds me of the hot water urns our mums used to have in the ’70s, but a lot safer. Getting one.”

Another fan explained why this new appliance is better than a kettle, saying that it is great for older people or those suffering from arthritis who find it difficult to lift a heavy kettle.

  • If they are energy saving then I wouldnt mind one but at the same time I wont discard my kettle. If the kettle gives up then I may just look into one of these.

    • Yes that’s what I’m thinking too. I suppose we live in a time that everything needs to be quick and instant.
