Hello!

Just when you thought COVID had cancelled out the collectables, they’re back. Bunnings has launched a cute range called Little Gardeners, just in time for the Winter school holidays.

We’ve still got a few mini pots left over from the Woolworths Discovery Garden collection so I’m not in any rush to gather more seedlings. But for those kids (and grown ups) who couldn’t get enough of the plantable range, than the new Little Gardeners is just for you.

All-In-One Little Gardeners Kits

Each of the Bunnings Little Gardeners packs has a different theme. There’s an all-in-one-greenhouse kit, mini veggie garden kit, sunflower garden kit, flower power kit, mini tomato grow and create kit and even a butterfly garden kit. We love that there’s also a pizza garden kit as part of the collection so you can plant your own home-grown pizza pie toppings.

The flagship product is the Mr Fothergill’s Little Gardeners Mini Greenhouse Kit for $16.98. This all-in-one cute kit comes with everything you need to build your own greenhouse. It includes a greenhouse (made of sturdy clear plastic, with a removable lid for easy access to your seedlings), soil pellets, plant tags and 3 seed varieties (Tomato – Cherry Camp Joy, Basil Sweet and Sunflower Giant Single). So easy to build, sow and grow your very own vegetables, herbs and flowers at home!

Each Little Gardeners pack has three peat pots, three soil mix pellets, three packets of seeds, three popsicle sticks for plant tags and a booklet with growing instructions.

Not Free!

Unfortunately unlike other collectables, these will not be given out for ‘free’ as part of a minimum shop spend. The Little Gardeners are on sale with prices starting at $6.16.

School Holiday Gardening Fun

But with school holidays starting soon, this may be a worthy investment. I’m sure there are many kids who would be keen to spend a day or two getting their paws dirty in the garden.

This is not Bunnings first foray into kids’ gardening pack. Last year, the hardware giant offered free ‘My Little Seed Garden’ collectables as part of their school holiday program. There were 15 My Little Seed garden pots in the range, including basil, thyme, dill and cucumber.

Would your kids (or you) be keen to get the Little Gardeners’ collectables? Tell us in the comments below.

  • These are fun and pretty for kids, and love that it is not a throwaway item. I couldn’t manage to find these last time at Bunnings so will try again. Also reminded of the Woolworths promo giveaways and hope they do something similar this year.

  • This is a great way to introduce gardening to kids. They are more likely to eat/try food if they have grown it themselves.
