Have you heard about medical studies that test drugs by giving some of the patients the real drug and other patients a placebo, which is just a fake drug like a sugar lolly but looks like the real drug?

The key is that the patients who go in the study don’t know if they have the real drug or if they have the placebo.

Now you may not know that a certain proportion of people who take the fake drug get better as they are convinced that they have the real drug. Hard to believe right? People with serious illnesses do get better and all they took was a sugar lolly! This is a scientific fact – not fiction!

Study after study has shown that people get well after taking a placebo.

Dr Joe Dispenza who is a scientist at heart with continuing education in neurology, neuroscience, brain function and chemistry, cellular biology, memory formation, and aging and longevity, wanted to study this incredible phenomenon to see if he could make sense of it.

After years of research, with hundreds of examples of people getting better using their thoughts alone – he decided to write his latest book and share this amazing information with the world! You Are the PLACEBO: Making Your Mind Matter.

This is a book for everyone who wants to understand how to live a happy and healthy life.

In the same way we know that our stressful thoughts can make us sick, our healing thoughts can make us well.

You Are the PLACEBO: Making Your Mind Matter was listed as a New York Times best seller only 1 week after its release!

I interviewed Dr Joe and he:

  • Told me about the inspiration for the book.
  • Shared some of the miraculous stories he has witnessed.
  • Gives scientific evidence of amazing healings from his workshops where participants learn his model of personal transformation and heal themselves.
  • Explains what you can gain by reading this book.

Don’t miss this amazing interview and I hope you enjoy great health for yourself and your family!

  • I think the mind plays a very important role in our recoveries, but I’m not sure it’s the only factor. There’s much more to be well and healthy

  • The mind is an incredibly powerful thing. I also believe that your gut health controls a lot of your mental and physical health.

    • You are so right. The research shows a clear link between gut health and mind health and a strong immune system.

  • I love this study. It’s the power of the mind. I have heard of doctors ordering just a headache pill and let the patient think it will work with their massive pain. Some people just want that pill that will fix everything.

    • I agree… it is how many of us were brought up. To believe if you are sick take a pill and you’ll get better. BUT new information about the mind and nutrition show us that our bodies are smarter than we think and we can heal ourselves… its just a matter of being open to a chance in beliefs

      thanks for your comments

  • I have heard about this before. It is quite fascinating!

  • I believe our minds truly help us heal

    • Thanks for your comment.
If we believe then we can heal… that’s the placebo effect. An open mind is a good thing in cases of self healing. Why would anyone try to heal themselves with their mind if they don’t believe it can work – that doesn’t make sense… so people only try if they believe and if they try – they can be successful. Makes sense…

  • I’m a bit skeptical. Of course a positive outlook is very helpful, but I’m not entirely convinced that it’s all the mind’s doing. Nevertheless, it’s something to look into.
I am curious though where the evidence is of people who have suddenly got better. Surely that would be noteworthy to cite some real cases.

    • You are right! evidence is so important and they are cited throughout the book. Amazing true stories of healing – Dr Joe went all over the world to interview these people to see if science could explain their healing … he concluded it was their mind – he is a neuroscientist … so science is his thing!

  • Positive thinking is great and does help with health but I am not that convinced it can heal everything. If I cut an artery and set my mind to thinking all will be well, I still think I will bleed to death if I do not get urgent surgery.

    • Yes, this is true… a severed artery will need surgery. This books is not about this it is about healing diseases like cancer, MS, autoimmune diseases … inspirational stories. Definitely worth a read.
