Tiffani Thiessen tells US Weekly that she’s “conservative” when it comes to breastfeeding.

American actress, Tiffani Thiessen is known for her role as Kelly Kapowski on Saved by the Bell and Valerie Malone on Beverly Hills, 90210.

Mum of two, Tiffani who is still breastfeeding her 9-month-old son, Holt, said while she does feel that mothers should be able to nurse “anywhere and everywhere,” she prefers to be unseen.

“I do what I need to do, but usually in a restroom … and sadly, sit on a toilet and nurse my child.”

“At the same time, I don’t judge women who … sit at a dinner table and do it.… It’s just not me.”

I think it really is a personal choice we are all entitled to make ourselves. Each to their own, right?

  • IT is sad that something so natural is now frowned upon

  • Each to their own I say, good on her for feeding her baby the best way she sees fit

  • I appreciate its a personal choice thing, but surely she can do better then sitting on a toilet to breastfeed :/ Not very hygienic

  • There is so much bacteria and germs on doors from people not washing their hands that I would be looking for an alternative quiet spot if I could unless baby is screaming too much. That’s when it handy to have a bottle of expressed milk if you can manage it.

  • I think her life and circumstances help guide her decisions. I wouldn’t have breastfed in public if I thought the paparazzi might try to use such images for personal gain.

  • That’s fair enough, each to there own :)

  • Everyone should feed where it feels comfortable for them and bubs.

  • It is a personal choice, but sitting a toilet to feed a baby is not for me. Everybody should able to feed and drink in public.

  • I’m not sure why she needed to make this statement. If she feels more comfortable in a restroom, then fine. If others feel more comfortable in a dining room, then also fine.

  • I never went this far, but I was definitely more comfortable feeding with a little more privacy. And to be fair to her, some paparazzi would probably take an unflattering photo and make a “scandal”.

  • I felt exactly the same way. I have no issue with any mother feeding in public – I just couldn’t bring myself to do it. I think it had something to do with the fact that I had low self-esteem – now….I love me & would be happy to feed in public (not that I am having any more children lol)! It really should be each individuals choice.

  • I understand her completely. I loved breastfeeding my daughter. I did it for over a year. But I didn’t like breastfeeding in public, so I always tried to find a way to escape and find a comfortable place for me and my daughter.
