Jennifer Henderson of Love JK and Alex Shaw of The Inspired Occasion, have created a few fun and easy DIY Christmas food and craft tutorials which your kids will love to help you with over the festive season.

Pinecone Craft

Fun DIY’s using pinecones that will keep the kids amused and look amazing. These simple pinecones can be found in lots of parks and gardens and the kids will love hunting for them and then decorating.

 

 

What you will need

  • Pinecone
  • Coloured paints
  • Other decorative items such as glitters, diamontiese, stones can be used to jazz up your pinecones
  • Paint Brushes
  • Newspaper or drop sheets
  • Fishing wire or twine
  • Hot glue gun
  • Decorative vase or candy jar
  • Name tags

How to

  • Head down to your local park and collect pinecones
  • Lay down drop sheet
  • Paint and decorate pinecones
  • Allow to dry over night

Centrepiece

To create a centre piece place painted pinecones in decorative jars and finish with colour coordinated ribbon.

Table Place Cards

To create table place settings, slide in name tags and place on table (a small amount of hot glue gun may be required to affix tag) Feel free to download Love JK’s place card template here

Ornaments

To create hanging ornaments use hot glue gun to attach fishing wire, once dry hang on tree.
