To celebrate International Women’s Day, Coles has partnered with U by Kotex to give away free pads and liners today only.

“Pads and liners are 100% free only at Coles,” the company shared on Instagram.

There is a limit of one per customer and tampons aren’t included in the deal.

Woolworths are also donating 5c from every packet of pads or tampons sold to Share the Dignity.

Did you know that around 27% of young girls miss school because of their period? Often, they’re afraid of the potential feelings of shame or embarrassment that comes with it, especially when they don’t have access to basic sanitary items like pads and tampons. Unfortunately, the stigma attached to menstruation stops many of them from feeling safe talking about the issue, and so they don’t ask for help.

  • Unfortunately I missed this offer – I hope others managed to get the offer.

  • This would’ve been great if I was near a Coles yesterday.

    • We were too late for the offer too and no special trips just for the offer.

  • Bummer I saw this post too late. Nevermind I hope lots of women benefited from this.

  • The tampons are more expensive than the regular pads. Probably that’s why.
I got some liners yesterday in Coles.

  • I was in Coles today but I didn’t go down that aisle. Why are tampons excluded? If you have a Womens’ Shelter you know of -if you can afford to – you can always buy some when on special. A Womens’ Shelter in SA discovered a woman was using a few sheets of paper towel each time she need to change. Another one they discovered was actually using newspaper. That is not only not hygienic there is the risk of what comes off the newspaper when t gets damp.

  • I think this is awesome! Even if you don’t use pads yourself atleast pick up a pack to donate to a women’s shelter.

  • I remember wagging school when my periods started. It was the beginning of a downhill slide. The more I missed school, the more behind I got, the less I wanted to go, the more I missed. I ended up dropping out in year 10
