Just days after Woolworths announced the release of their brand new Orange Mud cake, Coles has released their own variety of the Aussie favourite.

A savvy shopper has spotted the Choc MINT Mud cake for sale at her local Coles,  with the new variety being sold ‘for a limited time only’ for just $4.80.

‘I couldn’t believe it when I saw it,’ the shopper tells New Idea Food. ‘I thought “Well that didn’t take them long did it!?” Woolies say they’re bringing out an orange mud cake and a few days later Coles have a new version as well!

The limited edition choc mint flavour joins the Coles classic chocolate mud cake and white mud cake for $4.80 each.

It brings to question once again – Is the Coles or Woolworths Mud cake The Best?  Join the age old argument HERE.

  • I would like to try from both the super markets and see whats the difference. They might compete on price and size of the product but I am sure both will have a different taste. Lets see how they can make a difference in terms of product quality and taste.

  • I tried the choc orange. It is very nice. I’m not a big mint fan. Reminds me to much of toothpaste. I think the white choc is my fave at woolies.

  • I’d love to try the mint one. Chocolate and mint is a match made in heaven. Such a bargain too.

  • Unless they are made in a bakery in-store it is possible they are made by the same well known bakery.

This competition war between the supermarkets is becomes so childish.
