Paris, 1928. Avant-garde Paris is buzzing with the latest ideas in art, music and literature. Lucia, the talented and ambitious daughter of controversial genius James Joyce, is making her name as a dancer. But when Lucia falls passionately in love with budding writer (and fellow Irish expat) Samuel Beckett he is banned from the Joyce family home.

1934. Her life in tatters, Lucia is sent to pioneering psychoanalyst Carl Jung. For years she has kept quiet. Now she decides to speak.

  • In Paris I’ve searched for my own Jacques or Pierre,
But try as I might, I’ve had no luck there!
But I DID fall in love…with Paris ‘ s charm and style,
And I’ll keep looking for my monsieur (it could take a while!).

  • Paris has always been known as a romantic city. To me it’s the language, the food, the historical sites and the people. From all the movies, books and images that come to mind when people just say ‘Paris’ – it is a magical romantic place

  • To Paris I would love to go
But alas I have no dough
They tell me it is a city for lovers
You only have to see all the book covers
I guess I’ll have to read the book to get my glow

  • Because it’s so beautiful a mix of history and ultimate style, where life’s simple pleasures are enjoyed every single day no matter what your age. The French understand that life is so short so they make the most of it.

  • Paris is the nicest city on earth and has so many great places to go for a romantic evening. The food is always better when it’s shared with a loved one and the sights are better viewed together!

  • I have never been to Paris so I’m not speaking from experience but from what I’ve heard from clients in the salon is that is just has a romantic energy that you can’t explain or understand until you have been there

  • The food , the tower , the icons everywhere its oozes love and i wish i could go there

  • Paris is so romantic and wonderful and full of history, the galleries, eateries, architecture, shops and the overall ambience of a city brimming with culture and style. It is one of my favourite cities in the world and there is always a new hidden treasure to to discover in Paris.

  • Seeing the Eiffel tower ???? all lit up at night is simply breath taking, throw in a rose ???? and a whispering of sweet nothing in your ear and it’s romance to the Max ????????

  • It has that unique, iconic vibe about it and the atmosphere and the people you meet just make it magical in every way. The sights and the smells are true to word romance.

  • The history, tradition and culture are all contributing factors

  • Everything Parisian seduces you….food, fashion, art, history and the beauty.

  • I think its the wine , the food , the Eiffel tower and all the movies that feature Paris always make it so romantic

  • With so much amazing history and many, many tales of love Paris holds that special place in everybody’s heart

  • Paris has always been portrayed as the most romantic city in the world, so why bust the bubble and think otherwise. We all need to have somewhere romantic to escape to even if it is in a book.
