This month 20 lucky MoM members could WIN the hilarious new novel The Social Diary by Ros Reines from Allen & Unwin.

WIN 1 of 20 copies of the fabulous new novel, The Social Diary by Ros Reines, valued at $29.99 each.

Enjoy this gossipy and glamorous novel of 80’s excess from the author of the real life gossip column Guess Who Don’t Sue.

When Savannah Stephens returns to her hometown Sydney after a stint as a music journalist in London, she is thrown into the burgeoning world of society parties and the excesses of the eighties social scene.

Savannah’s first job back on home soil is as the editor of the newly created Social Diary. Her days are spent battling old fashioned newspaper colleagues, who frown upon the so called ‘women’s pages’ and tut when her stories make front page splashes.

By night she is awash in a sea of expensive champagne at the biggest and best parties the city has to offer. It is there that she collides with the unbelievable characters and larger than life personalities who are fast becoming legendary for their jaw dropping antics.

Will Savannah manage to prove her critics wrong or will she be distracted by a very handsome yet mysterious man?

  • Madonna for continually reinventing herself and challenging the boundaries of fashion and her immense success as a sole female performer. I believe she and people like Cher paved the way for some of the female performers today.

  • My husband! He was born in the 80’s and he may not be a celebrity to anyone but me, but he is still my favourite!

  • My favourite celebrity was Rachael from “friends” I just thought she was perfect and wanted to be as awesome as her!

  • I love Brad Pitt in the 80’s because he was young and hot back then. Now his older and still as hot as he was back then.

  • Steve McQueen but unfortunately died in 1980 and thought he was a great actor and loved those blue eyes.

  • jason donovan was all the rage back then. Everyone thought he was so hot.

  • Agro, because I was a kid and he kept us entertained before heading to school

  • I loved Madonna, it was the gloves, the big hair & singing \”like a prayer\” with my sisters into a hair brush. The 80\’s rocked!

  • I loved Dani Minogue from Young Talent Time days, gotta love her 80’s hair and glitter balloon skirts

  • Charlene on neighbours – she got up to so much mischief but was lovable at the same time. Absolutely loved Kylie too in everything she acted, so versatile and her music would just get me bopping along at every tune :)

  • Molly Maldrem, he brightened up every weekend waking up to the latest hits and videos! Was great

  • Brad Pitt so handsome and such a great actor. Pity he is now married.

  • cindy lauper because she was the original hipster with her side shaved head

  • Don Johnson with his suave suits and slicked back hair, looking so sultry and sexy, was a celebrity of the 80s to swoon over.

  • So many great artists in the 80’s – Blondie, Madonna, David Bowie – my favourite era for music probably because that was when I became fully fledged adult! Hard decision but Micheal Jackson was wonderful iconic performer in his heyday – had it all – style, dance moves, great music & sadly went downhill after that.
