Monty, Tawny and friends receive some startling news: Scary Mary and her pirate crew are on their way, looking for a new island to call home.

What can they do? There’s no way they can hide – especially when Bunchy accidentally turns the whole island stripy with her new magic wand.

  • I loved Watership Down… but not when I saw the stills to the movie in a book!

  • As a child it was sleeping beauty. Apparently I was obsessed.

  • I did not have access to fantasy stories as a child but I’m constantly reading to and teaching my many grandchildren to read and enjoy books. Scary Mary and the Stripe Spell, book of adventure and magic would quickly become a favourite.

  • Hanzel and Grettle gets my vote! I was always mesmerised by the thought of an edible house! I think this explains my sweet tooth today!

  • My favorite fantasy story was ali baba and the 40 thieves, so much adventure for one person and so much story to imagine and enjoy.

  • Alice in Wonderland was a tale that captivated my heart
Fascinating adventures and explorations which were magically part
Creative animation so unique, beloved and one of a kind
Picturesque scenes to forever inspire & beautifully remind.

  • Cinderella was my most favorite one! It made be believe in ‘Prince Charming’ and ‘happy endings’.

  • The Dark Rising .. quest for Light over dark. Later in life realised Herne the Hunter part of UK folklore. Could do with some “lightness’ in these current dark times.

  • I loved Fairy Tales but especially enjoyed the Nine Brothers. It had a very strong moral element but I think I was more enthralled by the illustrations. The ponytails on the brothers was very out there for a girl in the 60s.

  • I loved (and still do really) the Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe. It did lead to me constantly sitting in my cupboard waiting for a magical entry to open up but that was half the fun.

  • I never had a favourite because i loved soooo many fantasy stories but I’m sure these would becomey kids favourites

  • Jack and the beanstalk, I was absolutely convinced that it was possible to reach the sky if you climbed high enough

  • Always love the Fantasy aspect of Alice in Wonderland , great story with wonderful characters.

  • Mine would have to be Jack and the beanstalk. Loved how they climbed the beanstalk up into the sky and it was a magical place

  • A Wrinkle in Time. I loved that book SO much when I was young, I just cannot bring myself to watch the movie (just in case they’ve changed any of it!)
