VTech: Supporting Children’s Learning, While They Play

With technology at the forefront of all their toys, VTech supports the active learning of babies, toddlers, preschoolers and growing children in ways that are relevant and age-appropriate to their different developmental stages.

You know your child’s play time is in the hands of trusted and quality learning toys, backed by experience and innovation that will support their learning.

There’s something new and exciting from VTech for each age range.  Check out these cool new toys you can win for your little ones.

Get comfy while having fun with the Tummy Time Discovery Pillow. This soft friendly giraffe shaped pillow provides comfortable support for your baby with three ways to play. The crescent-shaped pillow provides support during tummy time play as your child begins strengthening their neck muscles; it also supports them when they’re  learning to sit on their own; and as your child grows, you just pop the removable toys in your nappy bag for on-the-go entertainment.  The pillow has multiple textures, patterns and colours for visual and tactile stimulation, plus removable baby-safe mirror, rattle and piano. Light-up keys on the piano introduce numbers, colours, shapes and animals, and play sing-along nursery rhymes, music and short tunes.

Catch him if you can! Chase Me Bear is an active little bear named Franklin that skates, spins and wobbles across the floor, encouraging your little one to dance and crawl after him. When your child gets close, he reacts with playful sounds and silly and encouraging phrases. Proximity sensors keep the bear clear of nearby objects. Five colourful shape buttons introduce letters, counting, colours, music and more. In Dancing mode, Franklin introduces four music styles: country, rock & roll, hip hop and reggae. To keep the action moving, switch to Chase Me mode, it’s time to follow Franklin as fast as you can!

Climb aboard for a fun learning journey. Start the engine and take a trip with the Playtime Bus with Phonics.  With over 100 interactive curriculum questions your child can learn phonic sounds, letters, vocabulary, numbers, counting and safety rules. Featuring over 30 lively melodies, songs and fun bus-related sounds effects, with 26 letter buttons, 1-10 number buttons, brake, horn and driver buttons and an open and shut door, this bus encourages language development, basic maths skills, discovery and exploration. Quiz mode reinforces that learning. Chunky buttons on the top of the bus call out shapes while the smiling passengers say funny phrases when pressed.  Who knew learning time could be so much fun?

  • I read books aloud to them, starting language early is one of the most important things we can do for our children! And plus I love doing different accents, the kids love it! Most of the time I just make up my own stories.

  • Lots and lots of reading, singing, and silly games (peekaboo!) to ensure lots of smiles and giggles.

  • Daily reading and lots of free play

  • Read, read and read. Reading is the foundation to everything

  • We describe everything we do.
‘I love oranges, how about you?’
    Repeating back words she says.
Interacting with her as she plays.

  • By being present, playing games, talking and singing and letting my child “help” me when I am busy cooking or cleaning. We have some great learning apps on the I-pad but nothing beats a good book before bed!

  • Playing with them and asking them questions that will promote curiosity.

  • As Matriarch of a huge family my role is to include the preschoolers in heaps of fun board games for concentration, and we learn our letters and numbers with lots of repetition.

  • We always sang songs, encouraged questions, talked about what we were doing and where we were going. I would love to win this for my 2 year old niece so she had something new to play with at my house

  • We read books and play lots of puzzle games, walk around the garden and identify bugs, its so much fun.

  • Read or share picture books.
    Paint or draw.

  • We fill our home with talking – with so many words, language and self-expression my littles ones are taking it all in and learning everyday.

  • I make homemade playdough for my kids and for friends. Lasts 12 months and all non toxic made form ingredients from my kitchen. Possibilities are endless. We use it for fine motor skills, letter and number formation as well as creative play which is the kids favourite.
