She holes up at the home of her oldest friend Miriam in the upscale suburb of Greenwich. And when Miriam’s friend, model Karolina Hartwell, is publicly dumped by her husband Graham, a senator with presidential ambitions, Emily scents the client of a lifetime.

It’s not just Karolina’s reputation that’s ruined. It’s her family. And Miriam and Emily are determined he won’t get away with it. First they’ll get Karolina’s son back. Then they’ll help her get her own back. Because the wives are mad as
hell …

Eleanor Oliphant is Completely Fine by Gail Honeyman

Eleanor Oliphant leads a simple life. She wears the same clothes to work every day, eats the same meal deal for lunch every day and buys the same two bottles of vodka to drink every weekend.

Eleanor Oliphant is fine. Nothing is missing from her carefully timetabled life. Except sometimes, everything.

One simple act of kindness is about to shatter the walls Eleanor has built around herself. Now she must learn how to navigate the world that everyone else seems to take for granted while searching for the courage to face the dark corners she’s avoided all her life.

Change can be good. Change can be bad. But surely any change is better than fine?

Smart, warm, uplifting, Eleanor Oliphant is Completely Fine is the story of an out-of-the-ordinary heroine whose deadpan weirdness and unconscious wit make for an irresistible journey.

  • It is a truth universally accepted that the best book for young ladies to read, in order to improve their minds, is PRIDE AND PREJUDICE. With such heroes as Mr Darcy at hand, who would bother with social media?

  • To Kill A Mockingbird – I read it first when I was in school and it still has so much meaning, even in today’s day in age. I love reading about history and getting a birds eye view into these issues that shape the world.

  • Jayne Eyre it has everything – books don’t have to have explicit sex scenes to be good

  • Night by Eli Weisel. True story about a child growing up in Auschwitz. Mesmerizing and immersing!

  • Gone With the Wind. Yes, the movie is epic, but the book is epic PLUS! I have a 1st printing of the 2nd edition and love love love it! Its also a bit of my history as I grew up in Alabama!

  • Bryce Courtenay’s Jessica made me laugh and sob and moved me like no other book has ever done before.

  • With many Laugh Out Loud moments, it has to be Judith Lucy’s The Lucy Family Alphabet. Such a hoot!

  • Not my usual style but I absolutely loved the Slash autobiography so much so I couldn’t put it down!

  • Only Forward by Michael Marshall Smith because it is set in the future where cats don’t live with their owners, they live in their own suburb and people come to visit them.

  • Easy… the Bronze Horseman! A tragic tale of romance, trauma, war, survival and love conquering all.

  • I always say my favourite book is the one I’m reading at the moment. I’ve just finished Sophie Hannah’s ‘Hurting Distance’ – I’ve read all three of her crime novels
one after the other (though not in the right order, I realize) and have loved her characterization.

  • Favourite book of all time is Reader’s Digest.

  • Anne of Green Gables – such a strong woman who told it like it was – a inspiration for life always trust yourself!

  • the hobbit as it was what got me hooked on reading

  • The Alchemist. It came to me at a time when I needed it and it took me out of a very dark place. It will always be special to me.
