Step inside a world of pure imagination. Roald Dahl’s Charlie and the Chocolate Factory is the perfect recipe for a delectable treat: songs from the original film including “Pure Imagination”, “The Candy Man” and “I’ve Got a Golden Ticket”, alongside a toe-tapping and ear-tickling new score from the songwriters of Hairspray.

Charlie and the Chocolate Factory is perhaps Roald Dahl’s best-known story and has proved to be one of the most enduring children’s books of all time. • We love Charlie because what kid doesn’t want a golden ticket and to win their own chocolate factory

  • Grandpa Joe as he always reminds me of my Pop who would do anything for us, never stopped us from dreaming and helped us create memories that are still with me 40 years later.

  • The oompa loompas!! Who could forget or pass up that catchy song. Besides them, Charlie is so sweet, innocent and compassionate. The story teaches great morals

  • It has to be Charlie Bucket. He is kind, caring, humble and friendly – the kind of friend every child wishes they had.

  • Charlie Bucket.
The rags to riches story is so endearing.
I love his honesty and his luck
Ability to tell the truth when sometimes it might have been easier not to.
Oh and chocolate. Charlie loves chocolate, therefore a boy after my own heart.
There is nothing and I mean nothing better than Good Chocolate. x

  • Augustus Gloop because we love chocolate as much as he does!

  • Violet Beauregarde. It just cracks me up to see how big and blue she gets just for being a little naughty

  • The one and only Willy Wonka! His quirky mannerisms and amazing factory is every child’s dream home!! We’ve watched the original film at least 50 times and my kids never tire of it!!

  • The Oompa Loompas because of the crazy songs, and because they exist on a diet of chocolate!

  • grandpa joe because he always knew within his heart not to be greedy and this is why charlie suceeded in his unkown ” Test ” he was put through by Willy Wonka.
Grandpa Joe believed in charlie enough to help him realise his dreams

  • Willy Wonka of course, without him and his creativity were would all the fun be

  • Our favourite character is Charlie. He has an old soul, a warm heart & an undeniable love for his family. These qualities connect with us all and he reminds us there is still goodness & kindness in the world.

  • We all love Veruca Salt as she makes us laugh. My older two kids (15 and 10) think she sounds exactly like my youngest (little Miss 3) saying “I want this, I want that.” They’re favourite quote is “but Daddy I want it now!”

  • Violet! such a funny character who i always tell my children to not act like or they will too blow up like a blueberry.

  • Grandpa Joe – such a beautiful character who just wants the best for Charlie!
