US dad creates app which basically forces your kids to reply to your messages or else.

The app, called RespondASAP, gives parents the much-needed power to freeze their kids’ phones when they don’t respond to text messages.

“RespondASAP makes messages unmissable between people that matter since, important messages shouldn’t be missed,” creator Nick told WISTV.

The dad has worked out that by locking down all other functions on your kid’s phone, suddenly they are able to respond to your messages.

The app also lets you set off an alarm on the phone until they respond.

Originally called ReplyASAP the app was rebranded after a trademark dispute to RespondASAP.

Who else needs this app for the kids ASAP?

  • It would be useful for kids who forget to reply or miss a message. Kids shouldn’t be ignoring you on purpose. No phone would solve that until they learned manners.

  • Good idea some kids are terrible at ignoring their parents

  • I think you should use this sort of thing with great caution. If your kid is old enough to have a phone, then they’re old enough to take some responsibility for responding to you.

  • Some parents would do that just to be spiteful. I know one Dad that definitely would even though it is programmed that the child can only ring or send messages to 2 numbers in an emergency and can only receive from those 2 numbers. I know it has an alarm in it as I have the same model.

  • How many phones will have alarms going off in lockers during class times while parents panic and think the worst?

  • Haha classic. Movie phones weren’t an issue when my kids were kids. Now they’re adults, we tend to call rather then text
