Blogger Adele Barbaro from real mumma shares a touching post on her husbands recent experience at the doctor’s with their toddler, Chloe.

Adele’s husband Paul shared, “Today we got a call from day care to let us know that Chloe was sick. She was not herself and had vomited her last bottle. We both left work and Adele got there first and as she did, Chloe vomited again. She called the doctor just as I arrived at day care. I took Chloe up to the clinic and Adele headed home with Harvey to start his dinner, shower and bedtime routine.

“As Chloe and I sat in the waiting room she rested her head against my chest. She was so placid and all I could do was give her cuddles and tell her how much Mummy and Daddy loved her. Just then she looked up at me and vomited all over both of us, again and again and again. It went everywhere.. all over me and her! I didn’t know what to do, I was in shock and then a man came over with some tissues and helped wipe up the mess. One of the doctors grabbed as much paper towel as she could and handed it to us but I didn’t know what to do next.

“Chloe was in tears and in pain and I couldn’t wipe anything up, yet alone with one hand. Then a woman came over, she must of been a Mum, she put her hands out to offer to take Chloe and I said ‘No, its ok, she’s covered, you’ll get it all over your clothes’…..she smiled and said ’let me help’.

“She took my baby girl and consoled her, she didn’t even flinch as the mess went all over her. It allowed me to get my jacket off and clean myself up and wipe down Chloe too. We went in to see the Doctor and thankfully she is going to be fine, she is trooper.

“As I came out, I thanked the woman again and she just smiled as if she hadn’t really done much. To her it was second nature, that “mum” instinct I guess. I have never had a stranger be so selflessly kind to me and it really made me feel so lucky to live in a country where community is still alive and well.

“As Chloe and I had a much needed shower, I realised my faith in humanity was given a wonderful boost tonight.”
