You’ll feel like you’re doing this new job you’ve had no real training for – ALL WRONG – ALL THE TIME.

This post to new mums is a total winner, we think Gylisa totally nailed it!

Gylisa writes,”Dear New Mums, Welcome to motherhood,

Any helpful comment from literally anyone, even if you just read it and it’s not actually aimed at you, will feel like a very real very personal attack. And you will cry. A lot.”

“Mum Rage is definitely a thing, and it’s triggers are : People that visit unannounced ( f#ck OFF ),
Postmen that knock loud enough to hear next door during NAPTIME ( the curtains are closed you noisy c#nt! )
People that visit your newborn and don’t wash their hands/wear heavy perfume/don’t make tea.
And lastly – husbands that snore through the night feeds.

So that’s it, that’s your first 6 months of motherhood, don’t forget to walk around enjoying every m i n u t e of being someone’s b#tch and if you complain or struggle then just remember – you chose to have kids…”

  • Being a parent is different for everyone. A little common sense and being kind to yourself goes a long way.

  • i love the non-sugar coated rawness of this post – and totally 100% agree – it sucks and its freakin tough and emotional and no matter what any mum tells you we all feel like this – just some people choose to sugar coat it to make themselves feel better!

  • Visitors that do not pick up on social cues to leave just need to be told – firmly but politely “goodbye” :)

  • Both my brother and I had to be bottle fed ( not by choice). Friday and Saturday nights Dad always got up when we woke up. He could easily change nappies, give bottles and apparently was better at burping us than Mum was. He could feel the “knot” of wind in my stomach, push gently on it with his small finger and I would burp within a few seconds. I was told about it so many times by other relatives who witnessed it themselves. He also did breakfast at weekends. He had to get up at 5.00am to be at work on time because of the distance. If they sent him out to country vehicle breakdowns he sometimes didn’t get home until about 10.00pm. Often the same thing happened for a few days in a row, so they had an agreement that Mum got up 5 nights and Dad 2 nights so he got enough sleep and didn’t get too overtired, not wise when using heavy vehicles and machinery. Mum also slept in at weekends and sometimes had an afternoon nap if she was really tired.

  • I am SO pleased there was nothing like Facebook/social media around when I had my children. It was quite bad enough without it.
