Hello!

So it seems us Mums have another goal to reach…. don’t just nourish and give all of your attention, love and energy to your newborn, make sure you get your pre-baby body back in 3 weeks. Yes, 3 weeks ladies. At least that is what Katie Price seems to be promoting with the latest image she has posted to her page on YouGossip.

Why is it that every time a celebrity has a baby they (almost) immediately have to post photos of how quickly they got their baby weight off / give us “solid” parenting advice on how to feed and nourish our children / tell us how to manage children’s behaviour / set impossible standards for parenting that only the filthy rich could ever achieve?

Congratulations if you are one of the lucky ones that manage to get baby weight off quickly, I am sure there are plenty of mums out there who are with me in all honesty congratulating these mums – it is brilliant (you lucky things!). But for most of us who have taken a little longer (and longer again for each bub) photos like this make me downright cranky. Cranky that being a celebrity apparently gives you the right to tell everyone else how to parent and how to look after yourself – and yes you can convey that via an image.

This image from Katie Price is clearly just to get back at the women with whom her husband cheated on her with, but is this the right way to do it? It’s extremely public and feels like she is rubbing it in everyone’s face, not just the two women she wanted to get to….

Katie put up this photo with the comment:

After past months of stress and lack of confidence after what them scum women did to me it’s certainly coming back now I’ve had baby!

The Daily Mail reports:

“The 36-year-old glamour model took to her page on YouGossip, a charity-supporting, photo-sharing site, to share incredible images of her stunning post-baby body while also taking the opportunity to slam the former friends who her husband Kieran Hayler cheated on her with during the pregnancy. “

“The reality TV star announced she was divorcing the part-time stripper in May after finding out he had a seven-month affair with her best friend Jane Pountney.

“She then found out he’d also had an affair with another pal, Chrissy Thomas.

“However, Katie has chosen to believe that Kieran is suffering from ‘sex addiction’, which he is currently receiving treatment for, and is trying to repair their marriage.

“She told OK! magazine recently: ‘We’re working on our relationship and taking it day by day.

‘I wanted to focus on having a healthy baby rather than ending another marriage, so I decided that I would have our child and help Kieran through his therapy.’ “

Let’s be real about this, she has NOT forgiven the women that betrayed her if she had to post that image, but she isn’t exactly portraying herself in the best light to every other woman on the planet now is she?

  • Images like these don’t bother me that much or stress me into losing weight. We are all different and will get back to the shape we want to be when we want. :)

  • I just spent months getting the weight off 30 kilos to be exact

  • I think we all need to take a reality check. We are all very different women with very different lives, very different bodies, very different ambitions and very different capabilities. That is all. :)

    • yep agreed. we should be happy that we have created something wonderful!

  • this is probably photoshop and/or an image from before that last pregnancy
we shouldn’t just believe the hype! and she is revenging right now

  • I don’t get caught up in all this celebrity stuff and have no idea who Katie Price is or how much weight she has lost post baby – has no impact on my world and as for “rubbing it into our faces” – All I can say is… don’t take it personally lol!

  • That was a bit wow good on her but geez going through that would be hard

  • Sad that she places so much value on how she looks, and measures her self-worth by her physical appearance. But women are trained and pressured to do this our whole lives, so it’s hardly suprising.

I’d be sending hubby on his way, that’s for sure.

  • she is a model- they all seem to bounce back quickly- i guess thats why they have a career in modelling!
ladies shouldnt feel the need to compare yourself to anyone, we are all different and at the end of the day who cares!

  • it could be photo shopped lol

  • She’s a glamour model, a celebrity…most of them take any opportunity they possibly can to show themselves off. It’s not just after a baby arrives. Who cares…take it with a grain of salt. We all know most of their images are photo shopped both before and after a baby (not to mention the amount of cosmetic work they have done). I honestly don’t understand how women let this get them down. Don’t we all have more important things to worry about than the latest celeb’s (fake & staged) pic???

  • Everyone heals in different ways and if this is what it takes for Katie to heal after the pain of finding out her husband is cheating with various friends of hers through her pregnancy then who are we to judge this. I say leave Katie be and let her heal in her own way, this photo is not hurting anyone just trying to rebuild a women’s crushed self esteem

  • getting your baby weight off quickly if your breastfeeding cannot be healthy

    • I can’t speak for everyone but for myself and a lot of other women I know, the weight actually falls off by itself fairly quickly whilst breastfeeding. Just another one of the benefits of breastfeeding!

  • If that isn’t photoshopped, then I’ll dance down the main street of Adelaide naked. I feel sorry for her, because if (and that’s a big IF) the photo is genuine, she must have a severe lack of self-confidence to feel she has to post that for the world to see. It’s like she’s trying to convince herself that she’s looking good. And I’m sick to death of so-called “stars” (who don’t live in the “real world” that the rest of us inhabit) telling us what to do, and how to do it, whether it’s our bodies, our families, our jobs, anything. They don’t help us, they simply make us feel like we aren’t coping, because we don’t look like or cope as well as they do.

    • I completely agree with your comment about a lack of confidence. The photo screams “look at me” but in a way that is seeking external validation.

      • And with the money and personal trainers and associated stuff that these stars have, maybe they do end up looking a million dollars days or weeks after giving birth. But then they don’t have to cope with the everyday stuff that people in the real world have to deal with.

  • Almost 3 years later I am still trying to lose the baby weight. Still I’m glad I’m not her.

    • Two years and I am still carrying baby weight…but I agree with you, still glad I am not her :)
