  • I hadn’t even heard some of them, like coffee stunting growth. I’ve always heard people say celery burns more calories than consumed but thought it sounded weird, may look into that one more for curiosity sake:)

  • Yes I did know most of those 7 were untrue – if you eat everything in moderation, that is the best way. Especially if the foods you eat haven’t been altered or changed in any way, i.e. fresh milk [not skim, low fat or added whatever], butter [not margarine or easily spreadable which has oil added to it] lots of fresh vegetables and fruit straight from the garden [no sprays either to control bugs or to make the produce grow faster, bigger, better] – you will all get my drift. Cook your own meals from scratch, don’t buy frozen or pre-prepared – that way you know what’s in it and there won’t be additives, MSG, flavour enhancers or powdered vitamins or any other fillers. Fresh is best for your body and that way you will stave off some of the disasters waiting for you when you are in your 70’s and 80’s.

  • The multigrain one was a surprise. I had never heard of a negative calorie food myth before, that concept raised my eyebrows.

  • I found this very interesting ..interesting about the sugar one..wish I could tell sugar this finding though as it has a terrible effect on me and causes my fibromyalgia too go crazy.

  • thank you for sharing these facts. more often than not sugar is blamed for so many health problems and hyperactivity in children, that you for the statistics that this is not true. it is good to know these things.

  • Exactly! The thought of eating sugar does make me excited as it is a treat! however eating it does not make anyone in this household silly! The reaction is mmmmm!
