A handmade serving tray makes a fabulous and handy gift for Mum or Grandma.

With a little help from Dad, the kids can make this easy tray and paint a beautiful design that will be cherished by Mum.

DIY tray

What you’ll need:

Wood (approximately 12 x 18 x 1 inch), handles, paint and a drill.

Method:

1. Drill holes and attach the handles.

2. Paint your tray and let it dry.

3. Serve Mum or Grandma a cup of tea on Mother’s Day morning on their new tray.

I’m going to give my husband a hint about making me one of these with the kids – I love them!

  • You know this really is an awesome idea. Im saving this idea for when I have grandkids. Its a craft I can work on with them for their Mum.

  • All from a piece of wood?! I think I would add some kind of barrier on the back and from too, just to avoid slippages
