  • We managed to pack our Christmas decorations away in January instead of March like most years. Sitting here now, I realise I’ve still missed a few decorations up high on the wall. The cardboard idea for the lights is a fantastic idea that we’ve always used.

  • Things have been pretty busy for us hand now that School has started again I have finally managed to pack away our Christmas decorations. Despite good intention, mine are simply placed in a series of plastic boxes. I will try to be more organised next Christmas!

  • Brilliant ideas especially wrapping the lights around some cardboard. I’m forever untangling the Christmas lights.

  • I have a 100 metre long strand of solar Christmas lights. For storage, I wind the lights around a big rope spool. There is no tangling or globe breakage. It only takes 10 minutes to pack them away. When I need to put them up for display the following year, it is so easy to just walk beside the front hedge and unroll the lights as I go.

  • Have always used cotton balls on the tree to represent snow, so that goes into the bottom of a box, then the decorations with more cotton wool in between till box is full then tinsel on top. Tree goes back into the bag it came in – out to the shed till next year.

  • I store my Christmas wrap (of which I have a lot), in a large sports bag, just zip it up and they are kept clean and tidy and I always know where my wrap is.

  • Great ideas there as having to store our stuff this year after being in storage for years. Not to sure about the glad wrap might just use the box the tree came in. Still have to figure out where it is all going to go as was in a storage shed before.

    • I agree with your tree wrap maybe not a good idea. If you have to store it in your garage the wrap may melt. All very well having packed in those ways but i don’t want several storage areas I want them altogether. Maybe pack those that will fit as listed into a large tub that seals fairly well.
