There are so many ways to both maintain and grow your brand status.

Today, I will take you through a handful of these tips for you to try in your own business:

1) Understand your target audience and what it is that makes them engaged with your brand

Once your business is established, you should have a good understanding of what it is that resonates with your audience.

It’s important your branding is appealing and compelling to this audience, and continues to evolve as your business grows.

It’s also important for your messages to be delivered in a sincere, and authentic manner to customers and clients. Building trust is key for success in every market.

2) Ensure customers are happy with your business service and offering!

A standout and referral worthy feature for businesses is the customer experience. Spend several hours mapping out your customers experience of your business. Through this, you’ll pinpoint improvements to make your brand newsworthy from their point of view.

Having your customers relay the message of your brand is far more powerful than it coming from you. Set your business up to generate this type of word-of-mouth.

3) Build trust with your audience

Audiences crave interaction and open communication to build trust with the speaker.  I always suggest engaging in an array of communication outlets to create a more personable, real nature.

Including video content and live streaming is especially useful in building trust as you connect in real-time. This means no editing or computerised improvements, which translates to a more real experience for the audience.

Periscope, available as an app, is a great tool for this.

4) Brand Ambassadors and beyond

By carefully choosing a Brand Ambassador who reflects your goals and values, marketing products can be made a more personable verses a pushy attitudes towards sales.

Your marketing muscle will be exercised as the Brand Ambassador can increase communication channels and familiarity with the brand.

5) Know who you are and what you stand for

It is extremely important to know what your brand identity is, and to involve the most current trends in the market to build on that identity.

Focus on what makes your brand special and unique, and make it the core of your communication and marketing.  With this, remember: Less is more in our hectic lives.

6) Be aware of cultural influences

Customers are becoming more earth-friendly and are requiring products to match. Health awareness is also a major concern, and the market is therefore choosing the products and programs that are focused on health and wellbeing.  Ensure your brand accommodates the cultural values for which you are marketing.
