Get the designer look for less with this Cotton On skirt…it only costs $40!

Aussie fashion bloggers are loving a $40 Cotton On skirt that is being hailed as the perfect dupe for a Missoni silk skirt that costs over $1300! The Cotton On creation comes in eight different prints, but it is the ‘Holly Zig Zag Multi’ that has caught the eye of fashionistas for its undeniable similarity to the designer item.

Luxe For Less

Shoppers say they were surprised to find such a stylish item for an affordable price. “It’s very Missoni inspired,” wrote one Instagram user. “I can’t believe it’s Cotton On!” “They’ve got some really great stuff lately,” another said, with others saying that the skirt was not only stylish, but very comfortable. The skirt also comes in an on-trend leopard print and a zebra stripe design, as well as a simple black option that is the perfect day to night transitional piece. Many affordable brands have started to create quality dupes for designer fashion items meaning that mums on a budget can still keep up with the latest trends.

No Difference

Billini, via The Iconic, have released a backless loafer that looks almost identical to the Gucci edition that every celebrity and fashion blogger has been sporting, and they come in a huge selection of cute colours and prints for year round comfort and style. ASOS have also joined the designer dupe craze with their range of straw bags, mimicking the countless designer variations of the summer accessory for a fraction of the price.

We personally LOVE the designer dupe trend and think if you can get the look for less, why wouldn’t you!? You better get in quick though – now that the fashion bloggers are onto them, we doubt these items will stick around for long!

  • I actually really like the cotton skirt, and I didnt know it was a dupe until I read this article. A lot of places do a cheaper version of higher end places. It’s like why buy a basic top from high end fashion say $20 or more when you can buy the same or something similar from big w or Kmart for about $10.

    • The “cheap” ones are probably better quality too. I find some brands you definitely pay for the brand name…especially when you find exactly the same fabric in a large department store a lot more expensive than the one in Kmart, Target, Big W or Best & Less.

  • Not really to my taste! Looks like something my nan would have worn in the 70s

  • That’s a great bargain!

  • I liked these skirts on the models in the pics but in the store they looked like something my Nana wore a few years ago, I am older but not Nana older

  • if designer prices are far fetched why shouldn’t smaller shops with more affordable pricing provide a similar piece ?

  • A good buy but not my style!

  • I sure like the clothes of Cotton on (but not all of them) and buy them regularly, but not because they are a dupe of an designer item. I’m never hunted for designer clothes/shoes or bags.

  • Why not. Designer clothes are so over priced.
